The wind rustled and the trees swayed humming alongside it. The night was silent and the creaks of the crickets seems to have vanished.
The night was darker than usual as the sky was devoid of any non luminous body. A thunderbolt flashed and the nocturnal birds dispersed in panic .
"Damn...it ,no way it's going to rain" Ye Mo muttered albeit frustratingly and pushed her cart hurriedly .
As if on cue, another thunderbolt flashed and bean sized drops of water fell heavily drenching her .
She looked at her drenched clothes and then at the raging sky and sighed .
Pushing the cart containing gourds of different sizes, she entered an abandoned shed seeking shelter which she doubts provides one as it barely served as a roof over her head.
Looking at the leaking roof and the creaking door, she shook her head helplessly, and the window.
Ahh.. there's no window at all ,just two open space to aid ventilation .
Her eyes wandered in the dark around the cramped space, she adjusted her eyesight to the darkness and pushed her cart beside the window..ah no the open space as it's roof leaked less.
Her hands reached out to the cart and carefully checked the gourds. She let out a sigh of relief since none of them were damaged.
She wondered if she would be able to deliver the liquors in time.
The trees swayed heavily and she shivered from the chilly wind. Her wet clothes clung to her body outlining her skinny figure.
She rubbed her palms together and rubbed against her two arms simultaneously . She searched carefully around the corners of the shed picking some dry woods from who knows where and started a fire.
From being able to identify the dry woods albeit the leaking roof and to starting a fire, one can see her proficiency as if she has done it countless times .
Sitting on a rock beside the "window " ,she looked into the darkness of the night, the rain doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Ye Mo couldn't be described as a stunning beauty or a nation toppling beauty, infact she looked average and normal,so normal that her presence will be almost negligible when placed in a crowd.
The only eye-catching feature about her is her eyes,a pair of lovely eyes . She doesn't have a peach blossom eyes like her elder brother nor a phoenix shaped eyes like her twin sister.
Her eyes are so clear and bright,so clear of impurities and as bright as the stars .
There's something about her eyes that draws you in, well if you ignore her facial features which is quite unremarkable .
Her bright eyes spotted a vague figure outside the shed,at first she taught it was some wild animal being washed away by the current.
Peering carefully, she was stunned on realizing that it was a human being carried away by the current or so it seems to her .
She hurried on her feet and rushed outside without a second thought. The rain fell heavily on her just dried body.
"Damn .." She cursed under her breath and rushed towards the human figure .
If she had looked carefully which she didn't,she would have noticed that although the human figure seems to be washed by the current,he remained in the same position as if a rock anchored on some firm earth.
She dragged the human figure which turns out to be a man and rushed back to the shed but this time at a slow pace because of enormous weight of the seemingly thin man.
"How can someone be so heavy ??"she wondered collapsing beside the young man panting heavily.
She was astonished when her eyes fell on him . Well why wouldn't she be?
She has never seen such a handsome man, damn ... handsome is an understatement, his beauty is indescribable.
His eyes were shut and his brows were tightly furrowed but even that added a indescribable charm to him,his skin was pale but his features were exquisite, his high bridge nose stood proudly above his somewhat pale lips.
She looked in daze and wondered what type of eyes hid behind those shut eyes . She looked enviously at his toned skin and sighed regretfully thinking it was a pity.
She heaved a sigh of relief on noticing his steady breathing ,she took in his appearance and a strange expression appeared on her face.
His clothes looked tattered and worn out,a stark contrast to his devastatingly handsome face ,his waist had a string of gourds, about four or five .
She knew it contains strong liquor as she was sensitive to the fragrance of liquors being a brewer herself.
The young man held another jar of liquor in his hands as if holding onto his lifeline .her lips twitched slightly and she looked away moving closer to the fire to warm herself .
"It's going to be a long night " She muttered softly looking into the night
