Chapter 9 - chapter 09 : Shadows of Madness and Love

The dark mansion of Sir Jack Barges was a place that instilled fear. The high walls adorned with old paintings reflected a sense of dread and melancholy. The sound of the wind could be heard through the shattered windows, adding to the eeriness. Alleged ghosts wandering the halls heightened the tension. In this darkness, the moonlight streamed through the large window, casting its pale shadows on the dusty floor, adding an aura of mystery and horror.

Georgia finished counting, revealing her sick smile. She pulled out an axe and a flashlight from her bag. She was searching for them in the dark mansion with eyes burning with madness. The dim light from the flashlight danced on the walls, increasing the terror of the place, as she moved slowly and confidently, following their trail in the darkness.

Georgia was searching for them in the rooms of the house, in every corner, under the bed, in the closet, and in every possible hiding place. She moved silently and cautiously, checking every nook with eager eyes. After a thorough search, she reached Al-Arabi and Serena's room. She opened the door slowly and entered, finding Serena asleep. She advanced towards her, axe in hand. Suddenly, she stopped and sniffed the air.

"You've always been the best at this game. Come down from the ceiling, your cigarette gave you away."

She looked up and saw Al-Arabi hiding in the ceiling. He jumped at her with his sword, trying to kill her, but she rolled away quickly to avoid his strike. She tried to hit him with the axe, but he parried with a powerful blow, knocking the axe from her hand. She raised her hands in a gesture of surrender as he approached, guiding her towards the wall.

Al-Arabi:

We're not playing your game, and I warned you to stay away from me and Serena.

Georgia:

You know I can't stay away. This game is all I have. Why can't you understand that?

Al-Arabi:

Because you destroy everything you touch, Georgia. I won't let you get near her.

Georgia:

Serena isn't just yours. She's part of this game too, whether you like it or not.

Al-Arabi:

"It's not a game for us. This is our life. And if you think you're going to win, you're mistaken."

Suddenly, Serena woke up and gently turned towards Al-Arabi. She saw he was about to kill Georgia, so she decided to intervene. She approached him, then hugged him from behind firmly and romantically, indicating her love, and said:

My love, give her another chance. Don't stoop to her level.

Al-Arabi hesitated in killing Georgia, then cautiously and gently withdrew his weapon and spoke to her:

She saved your life, thank her.

Georgia:

Thank you, Serena. But you know I won't stop until I get what I want.

Al-Arabi:

This is your last chance, Georgia. If you try to harm Serena again, I won't hesitate to kill you.

Georgia:

I understand. I'll leave you for now, but remember, the game isn't over yet.

Al-Arabi:

It's over for us. This is our life, not your game."

Georgia was laughing as she left her room, saying:

Don Pablo, be careful. You never know from where the stab will come.

After that, she ran quickly, terrified of him.

Before hugging Serena again, she said:

I thought you were Arab. The name Pablo isn't Arab.

Al-Arabi:

It's not my real name; it's an nickname.

Serena:

When will you tell me your real name?

Al-Arabi smiled broadly, tears of joy in his eyes, and said:

I promise I'll tell you my name the moment I die in your arms.

Serena, shocked:

Why die? I thought we were going to get married.

Al-Arabi:

Yes, but you don't know Georgia. She won't stop until she kills me, and she will. But I'm trying to make sure you get out alive before that happens.

Serena:

I don't understand, why don't we run away together?

Al-Arabi:

Because if I run, your life will be in even greater danger. I want you to stay safe, and this is the only way.

Serena:

But I don't want to lose you. How can I live without you?

Al-Arabi:

You will live because you are strong. You will live because you must tell our story. But most importantly, you will live because you deserve life and happiness."

Serena exchanged looks of love and passion with Al-Arabi, tears in her eyes, as if she had seen his death in those dark eyes. Then she spoke:

If I can't spend my life with you, I'll die beside you.

A front yard

Georgia was carrying an axe and a flashlight, breathing deeply as she searched for them with her crazed eyes. She shone the flashlight into the dark corners and loudly declared:

I know you're here, come out of your holes, you rats, before I come for you!

Then she laughed at them menacingly, as if she enjoyed the fear she had planted in their hearts. She knew that time wasn't on their side and that she would find them eventually, no matter how hard they tried to hide.
