Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: Court of Fontaine I Departure

(Chapter 6 Court of Fontaine I)

Throughout his life, Tempest has only visited the capital of the Court of Fontaine a handful of times, each of these visits was orchestrated by his Father, who brought him along primarily to introduce him to his numerous friends and acquaintances like a trophy, the capital, with its grand architecture and bustling streets, always seemed to swallow him whole, his Father, always engrossed in his own affairs, would quickly forget about his own son after the introductions were made, he would instruct Tempest to sit quietly in a corner, to smile politely when approached, and to wait patiently for his return, these moments of isolation in the midst of luxury left Tempest feeling like an ornament, displayed for the sake of appearances, yet unseen and unheard, the vibrant life of the capital, which to many was a place of opportunity and excitement, was to Tempest a reminder of his own solitude and the distance between him and his Father's world.

"Why are we going to the capital?"

Tempest asks his Father.

"I did not tell you to ask questions, you will sleep early tonight, we will be leaving early tomorrow."

His Father replied to him, not even answering his question while he closed his newspaper and got up from his chair leaving the dining table, the maids and butlers standing aside looked disappointed, as his Father didn't even touch the many food in the table the chefs worked hard on.

"I apologize, I'll eat as many as I can, Melissa, call my sister and teacher to the dining area please."

Tempest reassured the maids and butlers as they smiled and bowed.

"Of course, Young Master."

Melissa bowed and left to call Tempest's sister and Teacher.

The table overflowed with a mouthwatering array of delicacies, succulent lobsters and freshly steamed crabs, juicy steaks, fine wines, and an abundance of delectable desserts, only to be not touched by his Father.

After a short while his sister and teacher arrived.

"Did you call for us, brother?"

His sister Penance yawned while she talked, clearly she was about to go to sleep.

"Did something happen, Young Master?"

His Teacher Constantine asked.

"No, nothing happened, I just simply invited you both for dinner since I can't finish all of this."

Tempest gestured to the many food on the table.

"Mm, Well don't mind if I do!"

Constantine rubbed his hands in excitement, quickly taking a seat and filling his plate with three lobsters and four crabs, his eagerness was palpable as he indulged in the sumptuous seafood before him.

"I want to eat a steak..."

Penance said while also taking a seat and plate.

"Are you sure you should eat something heavy? You looked like you were about to go to sleep."

Tempest tells his sister, voicing his concern to her.

"No, I was reading novels from Inazuma, They are so weird sometimes but they're funny."

Penance said while taking a steak from the table.

"I see, let me cut it for you then."

"I can do it on my own, brother, I'm fourteen."

Penance replied to his brother, declining her request while pouting.

Tempest smiled at his sister.

"Very well then, Teacher, please slow down, no one is chasing you."

He said while he looked at Constantine, devouring the food in his place like he hadn't eaten in a week.

"Mm! Oh come now, Young Master! Can't this old man indulge himself for once? Haha!"

Constantine said with his mouth full of food.

"Hehe! Teacher is so funny, just let him enjoy this, brother."

Penance chuckled while Tempest sighed, Constantine opened a bottle of wine and jugged it, not even using the stemware.

"Pig... Everyone, please leave us for a moment, I wish to discuss something with my teacher and sister"

The butlers and maids bowed in response, and shortly left the dining room.

"What is it that you want to discuss, Young Master? I prefer in a more secluded place if you want to. 'Talk about it'."

Constantine's face turned serious, he down his knife and fork, Penance simply looked at Constantine and his brother in confusion.

"No, not that, I will be leaving Stormwind for tomorrow with Father to go to the Court of Fontaine, Penance, is there something you want as a souvenir?"

Constantine eased up before speaking.

"Will you be passing on Poisson?"

"Most likely not."

"A shame..."

Constantine sighed in response.

"Can you buy me the Boar Princess, novel, Volume 6?"

Penance asked Tempest.

"Sure."

In the early morning light, Tempest emerged from his chambers in the grand halls of the Proudmoore mansion, impeccably dressed in his finest attire, he made his way through the long corridors, heading towards the mansion's entrance where his Father awaited him.

What awaited him outside was a carriage meant for nobles, fifty Knights of the Golden Hand, House Proudmoore's own Knight Regiment, were also present, many of them wielding a flag of the Proudmoore sigil, among them was Commander Pierre Dubois, a loyal supporter of Mengsk Proudmoore, an old man who once served the Fontaine navy.

"Your Father awaits you inside the carriage, Young Master."

Pierre tells Tempest to which he simply nods in response, Tempest enters the carriage, his Father is smoking a cigarette while using his hand to rest his head.

"Took you long enough."

His Father said while he put out his hand outside the carriage signaling to move out.

Tempest, the entire journey to the Proudmoore harbor was silent until his Father broke the silence.

"I've rented a place in the capital for today, at night we will be meeting the so called Hydro Archon, Focalors."

Mengsk said while he took a drag from his cigarette, Tempest, who couldn't even voice his opinion endured the horrible smell of tobacco in the carriage, while he kept silent.

"Well? anything to say?"

"No."

Tempest replied to his Father stoically.

"Good, we've arrived at the harbor."

The carriage came to a halt with a gentle sway, and Mengsk was the first to step out, followed closely by his son. As they emerged, the bustling harbor greeted them with the majestic sight of numerous ships, most of the vessels were from Mengsk's own fleet, among them, four imposing Dreadnoughts were docked, their formidable presence a testament to past glory, yet, their stillness betrayed a melancholy truth, they had not sailed the seas or seen battle in many years, their potential wasted amidst the bustle of the harbor.

"What a waste..."

Tempest Muttered under his breath.
