Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Slaying the Dragon

Using the ritual drawing pen and special ink, Lucas drew a pentagram magic circle on the paper. He placed ten bloodstones at the outer and inner points of the star.

Finally, he took out "The Heart of the Red Dragon Nielcolone" and placed it in the center of the pentagram.

Instantly, the sulfur lines within the hexagram magic circle ignited.

The wind picked up, forming a whirlwind around the magic circle, while the inside remained unaffected.

Lucas adjusted the dials on "The Heart of the Red Dragon Nielcolone," and the faint sound of a dragon's roar echoed in the air.

The wind intensified, lifting sand into the air and enclosing the magic circle within a swirling wall of sand.

As Lucas set the final dial to the correct position, the wind abruptly stopped, and the sand fell back to the ground.

Silence, as if all the world's sounds had vanished.

A pressure emanating from a higher being slowly intensified in the air.

Lucas quickly jumped out of the center of the magic circle and took out several potions from his spatial backpack, drinking them rapidly.

The fire within the magic circle burned more fiercely, forming a wall of flames two meters high.

The pressure grew heavier, and the air seemed to solidify.

The flames surged higher, reaching three meters, four meters...

Lucas drew the Ancient Rock Cleaver, and the effects of the potions kicked in, causing the elemental fusion reactor within him to operate in overdrive with the raw materials and catalysts provided.

An overwhelming surge of energy burst forth.

At that moment, a genuine dragon's roar came from within the now over ten-meter-high wall of flames.

A pair of red dragon wings stretched out from the flames.

"I am the Red Dragon Nielcolone..."

Lucas pushed Ela's level to 80.

[Holy Guardian]

In the baptism, the angelic armor materialized by divine energy covered the right side of his body, and the cleaver's blade first ignited with holy flames, then condensed into a golden layer.

A thick dragon tail extended from the flames.

"Answering the call of the contract, for the next ten minutes..."

Lucas pushed Ela's level to 100 and cast status spells on himself.

[Supernatural Strength] [Swift Action] [Unyielding Power] [Frenzy]

As a dragon's head emerged from the top of the flames, Lucas leaped high into the air.

His face showed markings, his eyes turned to icy crystals, and his expression became one of extreme excitement. He raised the cleaver high, and its blade extended over three meters.

"I will fight for you and crush your enemies. Tell me your name, my contractor."

"Ela!"

Lucas shouted his name as he reached the peak of his jump, seeing the red dragon standing in the center of the flames.

He then pushed Ela's level to 120. The blade's aura surged, extending to ten meters.

The pressure from this pinnacle of power in the world stunned the newly summoned red dragon.

It lifted its head to look at the elf, feeling the killing intent that made its entire body tremble.

Large patches of icy mist bloomed on the beach, the seawater froze in mid-wave, and the fire walls within the magic circle were suppressed into flickering flames.

The Red Dragon Nielcolone turned its head toward the airborne elf.

But its head was forcibly twisted back. Time Reversal!

'Damn, I shouldn't have been greedy for those jewels!' Nielcolone thought.

Lucas swung the ten-meter light blade toward the red dragon's neck, channeling all his energy into the time reversal to suppress the dragon's movements.

In the struggle between time and the dragon's resistance, the dragon's head flickered like a glitched frame.

The cold frost extinguished the last flame.

The solidified holy flame-coated light blade struck the red dragon's neck.

The red dragon, newly summoned, had not cast any protective spells on itself, and the brief time reversal nullified any chance of resistance.

Everything happened too fast!

The light blade sliced through Nielcolone's neck scales as if cutting through butter.

With one swift stroke, the entire dragon's head was severed.

Ice rapidly spread from the dragon's four limbs, freezing the body solid before it could collapse.

Barely any blood was spilled. Five seconds.

Lucas quickly reduced Ela's level to 80 as the dragon's head, as tall as a person, landed beside him.

The frozen dragon head still had its eyes open.

Nielcolone likely never imagined that this summoning was not for battle but to take its life.

Having successfully slain the dragon, Lucas immediately began processing the corpse.

First, he used his freezing skills to create several large ice chests and then drained the dragon's blood into them.

The low temperatures would preserve the blood, giving him more time to refine it later.

Once the dragon blood was drained, he sealed the ice chests and stored them in his spatial backpack.

Next came the task of dismembering the dragon.

The sheer size of Nielcolone's body made it impossible to finish by dawn. Lucas had to divide the massive dragon into dozens of large chunks, freeze them, and store them in his spatial backpack.

Since the dragon was dead and couldn't escape, he could take his time processing it in a safe, secluded place.

After storing the dragon's remains, Lucas cleaned up any traces of the summoning and left the beach.

Back in the inspector's dormitory at the Seawall District Secret Intelligence Bureau, Lucas woke up from a nap.

He checked the time.

3:35 AM.

He wondered how the battle at the Mad Axe Gang headquarters had gone, but since no one had come knocking with news, everything seemed fine.

Lucas activated the dormitory's security system to open the floor passage.

He descended the stairs.

Before going to sleep, he had walked this escape route once to familiarize himself, allowing him to move quickly the second time.

After about a kilometer, Lucas reached a hidden chamber.

On the other side of the chamber's door was a waterway. A small boat was tied to the wall above the waterway, and by taking the boat, he could access the Lime River.

Lucas stood by the waterway.

After a moment, a thick layer of ice formed rapidly on the water's surface, and Ela walked in on the ice.

"Hello!"

"Hello!"

Lucas controlled both bodies to greet each other, then couldn't help but laugh.

This is so messed up!

With only a few hours until dawn, there was no time to waste.

Ela took out the items she had purchased from her spatial backpack.

Lighting candles, she placed them along the walls, spacing them every thirty centimeters.

Lucas stood in the center of the chamber while Ela used the rune drawing pen to draw a magic circle around him.

She then arranged the mystical items in the magic circle according to the sequence of secret arts.

The candle flames suddenly flared up.

A suppressive atmosphere spread through the chamber.

Secret arts are techniques that harness the mysterious energy contained within mystical items.

Mysterious energy differs from magical elements and is a type of energy that is difficult to explain. Its source can be the essence of a soul, the bond of faith, the expression of emotion, or the accumulation of natural energy...

When these energies reside in an object, it becomes a mystical item.
