The auctioneer ignored the client's rude behavior. He calmly accepted the ring and slightly bowed towards the audience.
"This year's grand auction of the Eclipse House in the Ravenwood Town has concluded. Thank you for your time."
"Also, you can purchase information on the Shimmering Realm or the Hall of Twilight Legacies at the back. It only costs 50 mana crystals." He then smiled and went outside in a good mood.
"Profiteer."
Heizen couldn't help but curse. This person deliberately created suspense around the last item and didn't introduce it properly.
Now, everyone was curious, especially the crowd on the lower level. How many people attended the auction in this venue?
When each person purchased the information for 50 mana crystals, they would harvest a bloody profit for nothing.
Although Heizen cursed, he still went to the back and purchased the info honestly. After all, you need to bow your head under the eaves.
Looking at the hundred or so mana crystals in his pocket, Heizen didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
He had just tipped the server at the restaurant and acted like a rich prodigal. Now, he was poor again. Bernard and Bowen would probably laugh at him if they knew.
Speaking of which, Heizen looked at the messenger crystal and discovered that Bernard and Bowen had both left the Black Market. The auction did take a long time to end. It was already dark.
Heizen quickly exited the premises and took the same route out of the black market. The small tavern where they first entered was already empty.
After leaving the market, he took off his black robe in a narrow alley after scanning the area with his divine sense.
"Well, who would follow a pauper like me?" Heizen couldn't help but chuckle at his thief-like behavior as he strolled out of the alley.
The Ravenwood Town at night wasn't as silent as he thought. There were still many people walking along the path, and most of them seemed drunk.
Heizen didn't return to the Sirus Mage Academy since it was too late. Instead, he went straight to the Midnight Tavern. He had already paid the rent for a month, which came in handy this time.
Heizen was walking along the periphery, navigating to the Tavern, when suddenly a bright light dispelled the darkness around him, followed by a loud bang.
"Boom!"
The raging fire and destructive force destroyed the multiple houses along with the outer wall.
"Lucas, are you crazy?"
A sudden shout with a large water curtain swiftly diverted the fire. However, this caused steam to rise, obscuring the vision.
All of this happened in an instant and Heizen had no time to react.
Fortunately, he was still a little distant from the fighting, so he wasn't affected that much. However, the sound of the fighting was getting closer, and so was the destructive force.
"Just give me the token and you can go."
"Damn it! Why didn't you buy it then?"
"Boom!" The figure seemed enraged and fired a wind blade that cut through a building like a tofu.
As the steam was dispersed by the wind, Heizen could only make out the silhouettes of two figures engaged in combat in the sky.
"Run," Heizen could only run for his life. He would be severely injured even if he didn't die amid their fights.
Since the direction they were fighting was in front of him, he fled outside. The walls had already collapsed, so it didn't take long for him to leave town.
Due to the heavy steam and occasional volley of fire, his vision was interrupted. He could only move as far away from the battle as possible.
"Hmph, Don't fight in my fief."
Suddenly a roar echoed through the Ravenwood Town followed by multiple dark feathers that swept through everything. The fire, water, and wind all got swept away with the arrival of the feathers.
The two fighting figures hurriedly applied the protection spell and quickly fled the area. They didn't want to irritate the other party.
"Snort, I will spare you two this time. Next time, I won't be lenient." The voice harrumphed in dissatisfaction but did not pursue them.
It would have been OK if that were the only case, but Heizen was getting desperate.
It was because the direction those two figures fled was exactly in his way. And they started to fight again after exiting the town.
What made him even more desperate was one of them, who had the token, specialized in wind elements. He was fighting and running at the same time in his direction.
"Fuck, I remembered this grudge. When I have power, I will kill you two to relieve my hatred." Heizen cursed and ran towards the forbidden forest.
It wasn't that he didn't want to return to town, but the attack range of both of them was wide. He had no trust in his ability to protect himself from the Tier 1 being, even if it was a random shot.
Each Tier 1 being was above level 20. Moreover, these two people seemed to be at the peak of their rank.
While running, Heizen took out a Tier 1 Crystal core from the ring. He purchased two such cores on the Auction to increase his level. Unlike others, he could perfectly absorb them with the help of his system.
Although they were both of Fire attribute, beggars couldn't be choosers.
Heizen ran while simultaneously absorbing the core. Though using the system to absorb the core was slower than the breathing method, it was still acceptable.
After some time, he finally leveled up to 15.
[Ding!]
[Congratualtion! You leveled up. You gain 5 attributes points.]
"Add all of them to agility." Heizen didn't care and ordered the system.
Immediately, a silent current passed through his entire body from his mind and he felt much lighter.
Like so, Heizen ran while adding the points to his agility whenever he leveled up.
However, the fighting range of the Tier 1 being was really large. For a time, he couldn't get out. Moreover, the guy being pursued was also running to the Forbidden Forest. This made his situation even worse.
[Ding!]
[Congratualtion! You leveled up. You gain 5 attributes points.]
Heizen took out another crystal when the first was absorbed. He was now on level 17. A Tier 1 crystal core only helped him advance three levels.
"Add them to agility." He again added the points to his agility.
Including this, he added 15 points, bringing his agility to 37. But he still received no skills from the system as before.
However, his speed had increased significantly more than before. If not for his low stamina, he would have used the Ghost step to distance himself.
However, he couldn't drain out all the stamina at once. This could expose him to much greater danger.
But his luck finally changed when he reached the Forbidden Forest. After the two figures fighting entered the forest, they significantly reduced their firepower. They were also afraid of this Forbidden forest.
So, Heizen was finally free of this entanglement. After finding a safe location, he leaned against the tree and exhaled heavily.
"Damn it! How unlucky. I almost died. Fortunately, I ran faster."
Heizen cursed loudly venting his dissatisfaction. If not for his increased agility, he would truly die when they followed him to the Forbidden Forest.
"Yes, you ran really fast."
Heizen had just wanted to rest on the ground, but a raspy voice came from his side, startling him.
"Who?"
