[Forbidden Forest-Ravenwood Town-Sirus Mage Academy]
In front of the huge gate of the mage academy, lots of people were discussing something.
Heizen also came forward because of the commotion. The academy had made a separate hall outside the gate to deal with outsiders.
From conducting tests, and selling props, to promoting events, everything happens from the hall.
Today was the day the Academy would conduct tests for the civilians.
According to Sarah, only when you had a connection or status could you join the academy at any time. Otherwise, everyone must test their aptitude on a certain specified day.
"Oh, that boy has a 3-star fire affinity. I am so jealous."
"Damn, 3 star talent. He has a chance to become an official mage."
"Don't forget about the fire affinity which has the most lethal combat force."
"Tch, what is so special about three stars? Many people have a 4-star affinity." One said in a sour tone.
"Hah, you only have 2-star water talent and you are here complaining."
Many people were vigorously discussing the boy on the stage. Some were happy, some were jealous, and some were lamenting why they didn't have such a talent.
Heizen also looked at the stage.
There were a bunch of people in their blue robes standing in different positions maintaining order.
At the center, a person in a blue robe with an eye-catching red line running through his entire clothes was sitting with a big crystal ball.
The crystal ball was nearly the size of a globe, with several colors swirling inside it.
At this time, a boy of 15 or 16 years of age was placing his hand on the ball.
After he placed his hand, three conspicuous red lights emerged in it along with a few other lights at the back.
Seeing such, the mage at the center seems to be very happy.
Just then, Sarah poked him from behind and said.
"Heizen, you are quite early."
Heizen looked back.
"Hey, I also just arrived," he said hello to both girls who were in their blue robes.
"Oh, 3 star fire affinity. It seems he may get accepted as an apprentice."
Sarah exclaimed after looking at the stage.
Seeing the curious look on Heizen, she continued to explain.
"That mana-crystal can determine the affinity of a person by the number of light and its color."
"Affinity is divided from 1 to 5 stars. Higher the star, higher the potential."
"Generally, only someone who has 3-star affinity or higher has the chance to become an Official mage."
"The person sitting at the center is Mage Ruther who is at Tier 1. He specializes in fire attributes. You can infer this from the red lines in his robe."
Sarah said in one breath.
Heizen finally understood why Sophie and Sarah said, they weren't mage yet.
"But why are all the people here are teenagers?" Heizen asked in confusion. Shouldn't you be able to wield magic from childhood in a fantasy world?
"That's because except for a higher race or special case, the human body cannot wield magic in its growth stage,"
Sophie said. She had begun to talk comfortably around him.
"A normal human can only become a mage apprentice when they are around 16 years old. Furthermore, they must increase their level to fifth naturally." She continued.
"Only then will there be no issue absorbing mana. After starting, you can then use beast or mana crystal to level up easily."
Sarah also nodded and said.
"Higher the affinity, higher the absorption of such crystals. You can level up quickly with the respective mana crystal if you have a strong affinity with some element."
"Of course, you still need to overcome the level cap."
"And not everyone can purchase such crystal in large quantity. Ultimately, they still need to hunt themselves." Sophie said and looked at him carefully.
Heizen rolled his eyes. They knew he was a pauper.
"Hehe, don't worry. If you have great elemental affinity, the academy will sponsor you generously. You may even get an apprenticeship from the Official Mage."
Sarah giggled and said.
While they were talking, the line was moving rapidly. The boy who tested the three-star affinity was standing behind the Mage Ruther along with a few other ones.
Heizen also got in the line and accepted a token with a number on it. Then he returned to the girls and asked.
"What about the affinity of you two?" He asked curiously.
No matter how he looked at them, they seemed to be from a good background.
"I major in wind affinity and Sophie in fire affinity," Sarah said but didn't say anything about stars.
Heizen also didn't ask wisely. They must have good potential to be from headquarters.
The crowd was reducing rapidly. Most people had 1 star affinity, while few of them had 2 stars.
Sometimes, a small commotion would happen when someone tested 3-star affinity.
However, nobody showed the fire affinity among them besides that boy. It seemed a rare trait.
Heizen looked at the red hair on Sophie imperceptibly.
"She must have some kind of bloodline." He thought.
"They are good friends though. They didn't put any air even when they knew I have no money and status."
While Heizen was thinking wildly, the crowd became quite noisy.
He looked at the stage and saw a girl placing her hand on the Mana crystal. The crystal showed three extremely dark lights.
People were quietly discussing the girl. Seeing Heizen was interested, Sarah said.
"Dark elements represent soul and death. Our Sirus Academy doesn't have such a major. Also, people don't take this element in a good way since many people with such affinity are necromancers."
Heizen saw the Mage Ruther saying something to the girl on the stage. After that, the girl went to the back along with other selected people.
"We have a good connection with Darkwind Academy. So, she will likely be recommended there."
While they were talking among themselves, finally, it was Heizen's turn.
Heizen took the token and was about to go to the stage.
"Good Luck." He heard from behind.
He nodded and walked toward the stage. However, his face was weird after listening to such words.
