Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The One Eyed Carnage

The once-peaceful Heilongjiang province was now a landscape of rubble and ruin. Liu Wei and the other hunters stood amidst the battlefield, smoke and mist obscuring the devastation. Chen Mei, positioned in the mountains, received a call from HQ. "We've identified the Carnage," the voice on the line said. "It's a Type 1 high-grade Carnage, a crab form. It's been dormant beneath the province for thousands of years, growing stronger. The lower-class Carnage were likely drawn to its powerful energy, seeking a master but ended up devouring hundreds of people."

Mei's eyes hardened with determination. She relayed the information to the five hunters on the battlefield. The massive Type 1 Carnage lay weakened but not defeated. Liu Wei stepped forward Infront of the crab like carnage, ready to end its onslaught. He looked up at the grotesque crab face, hundreds of eyes staring back. With anger and fury in his eyes, he raised his hands, and slowly particles of fire and earth began to merge, forming a gigantic, blazing magma spear.

The Carnage, sensing imminent danger, thrashed wildly with it's testicles but was held in place by Xu Lan's earth abilities. With Wei right arm extended, Wei aimed at the beast ready to fire. In a flash, the spear shot forward at near light speed, striking the Carnage's face.

"Booooom!!".....The resulting explosion was immense everything around them filled with fire and burst of wind, sending the hunters retreating to a safe distance.

The Magma Spear created mushroom cloud due to its immense power and energy Wei used to end the Carnage, smoke and debris settling around them. Mei watched the explosion formed like a mushroom cloud, a smile of pride on her face, believing the Carnage was defeated. For five minutes, the hunters observed the quiet scene, no movement or sound from within the smoke. They cautiously approached the Carnage's location under the moon light.

As Mei turned to walk away, a call came from HQ. "Chen Mei, Class A, have you exterminated the Carnage?" Mei stop and with her serious face carefully listening to the HQ reporter "We still detect a pulse of energy of the crab carnage and a small Carnage signature on the radar."

Mei's eyes widened in fear, she turn off the radio and called all five hunters that are still in the battleground. "The Carnage is still alive! Abort! Get out of there!" she shouted into her radio with fear.

The five hunters, including Liu Wei, received the call and immediately scanned the dark, smoky battlefield with heightened urgency. As the smoke slowly fades away they eventually find the Carnage's location, they were horrified to see it completely unscathed in front of them, without any wounds or burns from Wei's attack. Fear gripped Wei as he realized something was terribly wrong.

He turned to check on his comrades, but they were already dead laying lifelessly on the ground, and killed without a sound. Wei's eyes filled with terror and grief. And behind him a towering humanoid creature cast a shadow below, a figure of flesh and muscle emerged growling silently. Sensing the intense energy, Wei slowly looked back, tears and fear in his eyes, to see a colossal humanoid Carnage with a single glowing red-orange eye staring down at him.

Wei look up with fear and anger in his eyes, a new type of Carnage suddenly emerge out of nowhere, the Carnage, with its monstrous speed, swung its massive right arm. Before Wei could react, his upper body was obliterated, leaving only his lower half standing and then fell down. The 10-foot-tall humanoid Carnage stood under the moonlight, its eye glowing with pure power, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of the fallen hunters. The battle had taken a dire turn, and the true threat had just revealed itself.

The humanoid Canrage surroundings turn to silent, only the sound of the crab-type Carnage growling in pain and agony, One of the fallen hunters' radio headsets crackled to life, Chen Mei's urgent voice attempting to reach them. "Liu Wei, respond! The Carnage is still alive!" she shouted, unaware that her comrades were already dead. The humanoid Carnage stepped forward, crushing the radio underfoot, silencing her desperate calls.

HQ contacted Mei again. "Hello, anyone there?"

Chen Mei responded, her voice trembling, "Yes, Chen Mei here. What's wrong?"

"We've lost all signals from the A-class hunters and one S-class hunter in Heilongjiang. We only detect your signal!"

Mei's eyes widened in fear, realizing the gravity of the situation. She readied her crimson sniper rifle, scanning her surroundings with growing dread. In the distance, the 10-foot humanoid Carnage slowly appeared from the distance, its glowing red-orange eye fixated on her with a terrifying intensity.

"What is that!? Why.. does it has human like limbs?.. is this new?" Mei spoke to herself with curiosity followed by fear.

Sweat beaded on Mei's forehead as she aimed her weapon at the slowly advancing beast. Despite her fear, she steeled herself, knowing she is the last line of defense against this formidable foe.

"Die!!!" She shouted.

"Bang... Bang!!" Mei fired two bullets, gripping her rifle tightly despite her intense fear and trembling body. She felt death approaching just by looking at the unknown Carnage. Chen Mei, a A Class non-gifted hunter with heightened senses, could detect powerful threats. For the first time, she felt an overwhelming fear, her mind and body screaming to flee, but she had no choice but to fight. The bullets glowed crimson as they closed in on the humanoid Carnage.

"Boom!" A massive explosion erupted, hitting the beast with precision. Smoke filled the area, obscuring the Carnage from Mei's view. As the smoke slowly fades away, her eyes filled with dread.

"What?...this..is impossible" Mei stood stunned with her rifle still aim, and wide eyes that filled with fear and dread.

the humanoid Carnage stood unscathed, its right arm turned into shield made of a solidified flesh, blocking both explosive rounds that could instantly kill a type 3 low-grade Carnage.

Mei slowly backed down, her body shaking with intense fear. Her instincts screamed to escape, but before she could act, the humanoid Carnage vanished when she blinked. Her eyes widened in panic, scanning the area frantically.

"What!?... Where are you!?" Mei with intense shaking, while urgently scanning around to find the Carnage.

She tried to contact HQ for backup, but to her horror, a sudden movement with extreme speed pass by her, and her left ear radio headset are broken while her ear is bleeding. A shadow loomed over her, she look down and notice it, her fear are increasing, and slowly she looked up to see the humanoid Carnage standing above her, its single glowing eye staring down with a terrifying gaze. Mei's fear intensified, and she felt a warm trickle as she lost control momentarily.

The Carnage's chest to its lower stomach slowly split open, revealing a mouth lined with hundreds of teeth. Mei twist her body and back away, while her heart pounded in her chest with fast pace, her legs stop working, losing support due to extreme fear and dread, she drop her weapon on the ground, and kneel down, slowly losing hope, the grotesque sight paralyzing her, with fear she close her eyes and shed a tears.

The Carnage stood with it's mouth growling, and hundreds of teeth showing Infront of Chen Mei, In an instant, the humanoid Carnage lunged forward, consuming Mei in a single swift motion. The air filled with an eerie silence, broken only by the chilling sound of flesh being torn. Mei's lower half collapsed to the ground, lifeless, her upper body now consumed by the creature.

The humanoid Carnage exuded an ominous orange glow from its pulsating veins and glowing eyes while consuming Mei's lifeless body, satisfied with its grisly meal. Meanwhile, the crab-type Carnage, slowly regenerating its two gigantic claws and begun a transformation, sprouted a long flesh from each side of its lower shell. The flesh beneath its upper shell continued to shift like wings, adding a new form.

With its transformation complete, the crab-type Carnage stood renewed from the buried ground, with it's bat-like wings extended slowly on the horizon, its previous exoskeleton from both claws are replaced by a sinister mass of exposed flesh with the outer tough shell slowly repairing. As the humanoid carnage finished consuming Mei's remains, it turned its attention towards the transformed crab-type Carnage in the distance waving it's wings.

A primal growl emanated from the humanoid Carnage as it closed the gaping maw that had moments ago been Mei's demise. Muscles tensed, veins glowing reddish-orange, coiled with newfound power and readiness, the creature launched itself into the air with a burst of glowing orange light enveloping its legs. It soared through the sky and landed heavily on top the crab-type Carnage, its massive frame crashing down with terrifying force.

The crab-type Carnage unfurled its bat-like wings, and slowly lifting off the ground. The area stirred with intense winds as it ascended, twisting and maneuvering to escape into the night sky. Meanwhile, on top the flying crab-type Carnage, the humanoid Carnage perched with its glowing reddish-orange eyes piercing through the darkness under the starlit heavens.

As the crab-type Carnage lifted higher, attempting to evade capture, ten helicopters from the Chinese Defense Force closed in swiftly. Sent as backup after the six hunters failed to respond, the helicopters now faced an unprecedented challenge—a massive crab-like Carnage equipped with bat-like wings.

Reacting swiftly, all ten helicopters launched a volley of missiles towards the escaping crab-type Carnage. The missiles closed in rapidly, striking the creature and throwing it off balance. Sensing the attack, the humanoid Carnage turned its attention to the helicopters. With a sudden motion, it raised its left hand and unleashed a powerful burst of wind.

The wind burst intercepted the incoming missiles, diverting them off course. Pilots aboard the helicopters quickly adapted to this unexpected defense. Despite their efforts, two helicopters succumbed to the forceful wind burst, but all crew members managed to eject safely.

Undeterred, the remaining eight helicopters regrouped and prepared for another assault.
