Chapter 91 - Beware...

Hahaha!

Laughing hysterically, Jake keels over. Concerned, Jeremiah looks over at Jake, wondering if he had any mental issues. Seeing him hale and hearty, without any signs of acting mad, he sits back down, still slightly worried about Jake.

Once Jake has stopped his manic episode (at least in Jeremiah's eyes), Jake goes quiet, this time with a slight smile on his face. Seeing him content, Jerry takes out another sandwich from his bag, this time Octoluss flavoured, and started munching on it.

Grabbing hold of the sandwich, Jake also started munching on it, hunger consuming him rapidly. Both sat quietly, enjoying this peaceful moment, relishing the restful atmosphere, neither willing to talk.

Just as Jake was about to finish the sandwich, the nurse called back. Witnessing her patient eating the solid sandwich, she dropped her tray, swiftly moving towards Jake, panicking. "No, sir, you can't have that! You're still injured, so the only thing you can have is liquid food! Spit it out, spit it out!" With great difficulty, she managed to dispel the lingering remnants of the sandwich that Jake was eating, much to Jerry's astonishment. Feeling guilty, he tucked his head in, praying that she would not direct her anger toward him.

Just as the Winglos nurse attempted to make Jake vomit out the remaining vestiges of his solid meal, Jake stood up, angry. "Why didn't you let me finish my meal? Do you know how hungry I was for the past few hours? What do you have to say now, huh!" He started to berate her, arms flailing all around.

While the nurse was too shocked to say anything, Jeremiah discovered something. "You, your arms. They're healed!" Beth immediately shut up, confused at his sudden outburst, only for the nurse to realize that he was right.

Mouth in hand, she collapsed back in fear. "This, this is a miracle! I must call the doctor, she must know what happened!" Sliding, gliding, she finally managed to get a grip, running from the ward, too excited to say anything.

Meanwhile, Jeremiah blankly stared at Jake, confused about what to do. Jake stretched his arms back and forth, testing his healed arms. How on earth did they get better so fast?

Just as Jake pondered, a swarthy female doctor barged in, looking very concerned. She immediately went up to Jake and started checking him. "No signs of corruption. The young man here did not use any banned artifacts or stimulants. He is fit to be released." Finishing her diagnosis, she yawned, her mouth opening wide, before going out, scratching herself with her stubby hands.

Slurping the remaining juices from the sandwich wrapper, Jeremiah licked his fingers, commenting, "So, free to go home now?" Dumbfounded, all Jake could do was nod. "Want some help?" Jake nodded again.

As Jake gathered what little belongings he had, Jerry helped him get discharged from the medbay before running back to work (he was skipping, again). As he was leaving the medbay, a small, gremlin-like creature bumped into him.

Angry, Jake turned toward him before realizing that it had escaped somehow. As he dusted himself off, a small wad of paper dropped from his pants. Opening it, his expression grew stern. Quickly going back, he acted nonchalant, walking out of the medbay.

For in the paper, despite the many illegible scribbles and scratches, a small yet grave warning was etched:

Beware of Seline Amour.
