Chapter 65 - Sacrifice For Honour

CoMe... KILl... Sn0^zsl1Nger...

As Grud and the others watched in horror, frozen in place, the lumbering monstrosity lurched its way closer, inch by inch, millimeter by millimeter, its body towering over them. They wondered why the blackish Metalree started talking to them. Once the face turned towards them, their questions were answered.

A large and gnarly face grew out of the trunk. Rows of tall, jagged teeth lined up in haphazard manner, each noving sideways, like a buzzsaw. Large, crystalline eyes flitted across, as if in an epileptic stroke. Yet the voice dod jot come from the face pasted on the trunk.

Nestled in between the crooked teeth and eyes, was another face. A face unknown to tbe rest, yet all too familiar to Grud.

"Is that... is that you, Felborn? My God, what happened to you? Yoy look... you look... horrifying. How on earth did your face get, 'pasted', there?" Grud, initially incredulous, hesitantly asked, voice in trepidation. Yet all he got were distorted voices wishing for his death.

Just then, disaster struck.

"Boss, look out!" All Grud felt was a large push, before landing on a pile of sharp, bronze leaves. He turned his head, intending reprimand whoever pushed him, but froze in place.

Beebo hung in front of him, vines piercing through seven places in his body. His tongue, limping from his mouth. Tears fell from Grud's eyes, as he realised what had just occurred.

Beebo had sacrificed his life for him.

"Why?" Grud asked him hoarsely, yet all he got was Beebo, smiling at him, before closing his eyes forever. Anger filled his eyes, as he stood up, roaring angrily before charging at the tree that was once Felborn.

However, someone had already gotten to him, now it.

"You killed my BROTHER!" Beba bellowed, before charging at the Felrod-Metalree fusion. The rest of the group watched in awe as his fangs, claws and tail enlarged itself, covered in a light, greenish hue.

Blades emerged from his tail, slicing into the trunk, wind penetrative into its wounds. As the beast roared in pain, along with cries of "K1ll... Sn0zzs(~GER", Beba, taking this opportunity, jumped into the air, plunging his fangs into the skull of the beast, ripping apart a huge chunk of wood, blood flooding down its face, or what remains of it.

As Beba and the beast fought each other, Jake and the rest grouped back together. "I know what you feel, how you feel. But you cannot give into your rage. We must take this time, no matter how short it is, and make a plan. A plan to defeat it without any more sacrifices." Jake started to calm Grud down, trying his best to return a sense of rationally back into Grud. "He's right my boy. Calm down and let's think first. Beebo has fallen, that's for sure, and Beba is currently engaged with the beast. We must take this time and make a comprehensive plans on how to hunt it, no matter how much of a hodgepodge it is."

Grud, finally acknowledging reality, breathed in deeply, calming down, before turning back to the others. "What should we do?"
