"Where are you going?" He squinted at her, a hint of weariness on his face.
Cervini glanced at him. "To work." She walked straight past him to grab her bag from the sofa.
"You know who made those calls last night, right?"
His words carried a hint of anger, yet he spoke with an unusual calmness.
Cervini paused and turned to look at him. She had just checked, and most of the calls were from Lucas. He was probably just anxious because she had suddenly left the party and he couldn't find her. She looked at him without saying anything.
"He likes you." He stated it directly to her.
"So what?" Cervini replied, knowing full well that Lucas liked her and had made that clear more than once.
"You know?" Daniel's brow suddenly furrowed. "Then are you still going?"
"I'm just going to work, not to do anything else," Cervini said, no longer looking at him, and turned to head toward the door.
