That night, Zervini slept soundly until she was awakened the next day around noon by the piercing sound of the doorbell.
No one had ever come to her place before, and a sense of anxiety crept into her heart. She was afraid that her slow movements would make the person outside impatient.
She supported herself on the edge of the bed, carefully moving her body until she finally sat in her wheelchair. By then, the doorbell had long since stopped ringing.
Zervini still went to open the door, only to be surprised to find Campbell standing there.
He was leaning casually against the wall with a smile on his face, leisurely watching her as she opened the door.
Campbell had brought her back a few times but had never proactively come to find her.
