Cervini turned her wheelchair to reach for her phone, bending over but unable to grasp the device that had fallen to the ground. She attempted to stand up, but her numb legs caused her to collapse to her knees, and the dull pain in her knees brought tears to her eyes.
She turned to the side, trying her best to reach the phone that was so close yet out of her grasp. At that moment, the door in front of her slowly opened, and a car sped out through the doorway.
Cervini's eyes widened in fear, but she couldn't move.
The car suddenly screeched to a halt just an inch away from her.
Someone got out of the car, crouching down in front of her and examining her closely.
Cervini looked up and met the gaze of a face that felt somewhat familiar. When the person saw her, a broad smile spread across his face as he took off his sunglasses and extended his hand towards her. "Hello, nice to see you again…"
