Daniel was momentarily stunned, staring at her eyes filled with despair and sorrow, unsure of what to say.
Tears streamed down Zirwenni's face, silently dripping onto the clean floor. Daniel looked at her, his heart being slowly pulled away. He held her in his arms, saying, "Zirwenni… don't cry… don't cry…"
"Daniel… I want a mirror… I need a mirror…" Zirwenni suddenly seemed to have made up her mind, breaking free from his embrace and looking at him intently.
He gazed at her determined expression and finally shook his head. "There isn't one…"
"Then help me go outside to find one… you help me go outside…" Zirwenni freed herself from him and, gripping the edge of the bed, made her way toward the bathroom, her weak legs forcing her to limp forward.
