Wufu returned home with a cold expression, and by now the sky had already darkened; she first went to the main house to check on Madam Zhou.
"Miss." Hongyu stood up from her stool.
"Has Madam woken up at all?" Wufu asked.
"Not yet." Hongyu shook her head.
Wufu let out a sigh of relief, it was good that she was sleeping soundly, then reached out to touch her forehead, saying, "You continue to watch over her."
She left the main house, standing with her hands clasped behind her as she watched the last of the sunset's afterglow fade from the sky, feeling increasingly heavy-hearted.
Zhou Dajun had gone into hiding, and Wufu could probably guess where he had fled to – if not the maternal home of Madam Lu, then to some relative's place, with the Lu Family being the most likely.
She wasn't knocking on their door right now because the incident had just occurred, and Madam Zhou's condition was still unstable, she dared not leave.
