After the commotion settled down, Madam Zhou prepared the evening meal. Seeing Wufu about to take a tray filled with food to the woodshed, she couldn't help but call out to her, "Wufu, with the sky already dark, let the person in the woodshed stay another night."
Wufu was taken aback. Wasn't she afraid? People said fear was more frightening than danger.
"It's too dark outside. If you take him up the mountain, I won't be at ease!" Madam Zhou said, pursing her lips.
She was more concerned about Wufu being in the mountains with that man late at night than a man staying in the house. Who knew what could happen?
Wufu nodded her head in agreement.
Upon reaching the woodshed and seeing Ah Jiu half lying, half sitting on the straw, she walked over, placed the tray down, and said, "Have your meal. Stay here tonight, and you can go up the mountain first thing in the morning!"
Ah Jiu looked at her in surprise and asked, "Is everything all right?"
