Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 She Needs to Find a Way to Get Close to Him

Yin Hehe ultimately let her son return to the villa.

His health was not good, and if he stayed with her in the back mountain area, the chill of the nights and the poor condition of the house would surely be detrimental to him.

That would definitely not be to his advantage.

Therefore, staying in the villa down below was the correct choice.

"Sweetheart, don't worry, Mommy has a way to get back to you. For now, you just need to wait for me in the villa," she said.

"Okay!"

The little guy's eyes sparkled with trust when he heard what Mommy said.

A moment later, after he was sent down, Yin Hehe began to look around the room.

As the former lady of the house, she was certainly familiar with every corner here, just like the villa below, which she knew was composed of two parts: the main building and the secondary building.

The main building was grand and offered a view of the sea.

The one backed by the mountain was the secondary building.

Back when she married that bastard, she had always lived in the secondary building because, on the first day of their marriage, he had come up with three ridiculous rules for her:

First, she was not to touch him.

Second, she was not to enter his private domain.

Third, she was not to tell anyone outside that she was his wife.

So, she had lived in that building in the back for an entire two years and had therefore come to know well the dog kennel that asshole had built in the back mountain.

Could this be considered an unexpected windfall now?

Thinking about these things, she stood in front of the window, looking down at the luxurious estate bathing under the starry sky, a trace of sarcasm crossing her lips.

"Miss Han, you haven't gone to sleep yet, have you? I've brought you blankets and toiletries," came a voice as she spaced out.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Hearing this, Yin Hehe turned around to open the door.

"Auntie Ke, it's you. Thank you for bringing me things so late," she said upon seeing the maid at the door, feeling grateful.

This was an old acquaintance.

When Yin Hehe still lived here, Auntie Ke had already been there, and it was unexpected that, five years later, she would see her again.

"Don't mention it, I'm just glad you don't mind," Auntie Ke quickly shook her head.

"The young master is really something. How can he let Miss Lin do as she pleases? Even if you aren't one of our Shengfei Bay's maids, you are the young madam's person; he ought to speak up for you no matter what," Auntie Ke grumbled as she came in with the blanket to make the bed.

Yin Hehe pursed her lips and did not speak.

She heard the long-lost title of "young madam" and wondered for a moment what this old maid would think if she knew that it was that bastard who had driven her here.

What would she think?

"Auntie Ke, I want to ask, does the young master... come to the dog kennel every day?" Yin Hehe tried to ask.

Yet to her slight disappointment, the old maid making the bed shook her head.

"No, ever since the young master's health improved, he seldom comes to the back mountain. He's especially busy these days," Auntie Ke replied.

...

Yin Hehe said nothing.

She should have expected it; the dog kennel was originally established by that scumbag for his heart condition, to fend off disturbances by surrounding himself with vicious dogs.

Now that he was better, he certainly wouldn't be coming often.

A frown formed between Yin Hehe's brows.

She was thinking of other ways to get close to that bastard.

"To tell you the truth, it's not just about him coming here. I reckon that before long, this dog kennel might be gone. Last time, a dog went crazy and got out, which scared Miss Lin. She's been pressuring the young master to shut it down lately," Auntie Ke suddenly added.

Yin Hehe was stunned, "How could dogs go mad?"

Aunt Ke shook her head, "Who knows? Maybe it's because they haven't been vaccinated for a long time. Ever since the young master got better, these dogs haven't been properly cared for."

"..."

Yin Hehe fell into deep thought...

--

Early morning.

Golden sunlight streamed down from the clouds, awakening the bay that had slept all night. In an instant, amidst the splashing of waves, the manor villa bathed in the sunlight also began bustling with activity...

"Aunt Ke, where are the ingredients I asked you to prepare? Where have they all gone? Hurry up and bring them to me, I need to start making breakfast."

"Coming, coming, Miss Lin."

Aunt Ke, busy since early morning, quickly ran out from outside after hearing the urging voice from the kitchen.

Soon, all sorts of partially prepared breakfast items, all laid out on the kitchen counter.

Lin Shuang was extremely pleased.

"That's enough, go do something else. Today I'm going to make an especially lavish breakfast. Let me know when the young master gets up."

"Alright, Miss Lin."

"Also, go check on the child upstairs. If he's awake, tell me."

She suddenly remembered this and, although her meticulously made-up brows and eyes showed some displeasure, she still gave the instruction.

Aunt Ke was stunned for a moment, then asked, "Is Miss Lin talking about the new young master who just arrived?"

"Who else could it be? Could it be my son? It's really hard to be a stepmother; if I don't take good care of him later, your young master is going to blame me again."

To her surprise, she even started complaining.

Aunt Ke understood and immediately comforted her with a smile, "Not at all, Miss Lin has such a good heart, the young master is definitely very satisfied."

The woman was pleased.

Aunt Ke also left the kitchen, preparing to go upstairs to check on the child.

Unexpectedly, just as she reached the living room, she saw a dapper figure in a suit, stepping down the stairs bathed in the brilliant light, slowly walking down with a briefcase in hand.

"Young Master, you're up so early."

"Yes," Sheng Siyuan nodded slightly, his attitude towards this old servant was quite easy-going.

"There's some business at the company. By the way, how was the child last night?"

He too asked about the child.

Aunt Ke promptly replied, "Quite good, I didn't hear any crying. I'm just about to go up and see if he's awake."

"Good."

The man, upon hearing this answer, showed a satisfied look on his refined and elegant face.

"Since that's the case, I'll leave the child in your care from now on. He's new here, so be careful."

"Ah?" Aunt Ke was shocked.

"Am I to take care of him? But young master, doesn't he have a nanny? She's living in the dog kennel on the back hill, why do I need to take care of him?"

Aunt Ke asked somewhat incomprehensibly.

However, as soon as her words fell, she saw the young master in front of her, who had been gentle just a moment ago, now had a chilly look in his eyes behind his glasses.

"She won't be able to stay much longer. Keeping her is just so you can take over sooner!"

Every single word carried a chilling seriousness.

Aunt Ke dared not speak anymore.

Just standing there, suddenly, a fierce barking erupted from behind the villa, and shortly after, both of them in the living room saw a servant running in, extremely flustered.

"It's bad, Young Master, there's been an incident at the dog kennel on the back hill. A few dogs got out again and bit the nanny living there!"

"What?"

On the spot, not only Aunt Ke cried out in surprise.

Even the man standing on the stairs had a change in his expression...
