In the eastern privy of the courtyard, there was a grape arbor with a rocking chair underneath, laid with a thick cushion. A stone table beside it held a fruit platter and some tea with pastries.
Zuo Xiangning sat on the rocking chair with her eyes closed, a light blanket covering her legs.
She gently rocked back and forth, the sunlight filtering through the grape leaves playing on her face like a mischievous child.
"It's time for a meal," the man's voice was soft, but still startled her as it suddenly rang out beside her.
Her eyes snapped open, and she said to the man, "I'm not hungry."
"After you eat, I will have the doctor come to see if you can have the straps removed," the Masked Man coaxed her. "Tomorrow, I will take you out for a walk."
"Aren't you afraid of being hunted down?" Zuo Xiangning thought of the previous fighting and shuddered, "I don't want to risk my life."
