Madame Jiang returned to the Zuo Residence with a difficult situation on her hands.
She thought over it for an entire night, and early the next morning, she went to Xianglan Residence.
Xiangning had just finished freshening up and was preparing for breakfast when she saw Madame Jiang come in. She hastily got up to welcome her and perform greetings.
"Mother, have you had breakfast yet?" she asked, helping Madame Jiang to sit on the luohan bed.
"Not yet," Madame Jiang replied with a smile as she sat down.
Xiangning quickly instructed someone to add another set of tableware.
After breakfast, Xiangning, seeing that Madame Jiang appeared to have something heavy on her mind, poured her a cup of tea.
Madame Jiang took her hand and made her sit beside herself, "Daughter, yesterday your maternal aunt brought up your marriage to Ruochen."
Xiangning sat close to Madame Jiang and asked uneasily, "What did my aunt say?"
