Lingxiao placed Zuo Xiangning on the back of the horse, sharing the ride with her.
"I can do it myself..." Zuo Xiangning, seeing the other soldiers looking at them with curiosity, whispered, "Everyone is watching."
"The mountain path is treacherous, and with your horse riding skills, you definitely wouldn't make it," Lingxiao whispered back. "If you want to go, you will have to ride with me, understand?"
Zuo Xiangning ceased arguing, but upon glancing at the group of about a dozen people standing not far away, she added, "Can we bring more people with us?"
"Why do you need so many people? Your elder brother is just on a routine patrol; what are you so worried about?" Lingxiao laughed. "Besides, these ten are my personal guards, and their martial arts are not something the average person can match."
Lingxiao slapped the horse's rump, carrying Zuo Xiangning out of the military camp, heading straight for the west side of the city.
