Gu Shi Yi gasped for air,

The voice of the Red Fox came from ahead,

Gu Shi Yi was overjoyed; she was afraid that the path behind her was blocked and there was no way forward, and that she would end up trapped here alive!
Gu Shi Yi placed the Bee Egg on the ground and pushed it forward as she crawled, asking as she went,
"Is there enough space ahead, or does it get smaller as I crawl?"
She didn't want to get stuck in a crevice and suffocate, only to be dug out as a fossil years later. That way of dying was too horrible!
The Red Fox replied,
