"Eh!"
Shang San missed his grab and was somewhat surprised, sizing up the elder who had sprung up from the ground, he pondered and said,
"It seems you are a martial arts master from Martial Arts World, but..."
What good is a martial arts master? In front of a Great Cultivator, they are nothing more than slightly stronger ants. Thinking this, Shang San sneered and said,
"I'd like to see where you can hide!"
With that, he raised his hand and, from his sleeve, flicked a white silk handkerchief. The handkerchief unfurled in the wind and emitted a white light, seemingly slow yet rapidly moving toward the elder's head. He was cautious, not wanting to use too powerful a technique for fear of damaging the object in the elder's embrace!
Wei Chuan looked up at the handkerchief, wanting to use the donkey rolling technique again, but his body, under the white light, was unable to move. He couldn't help but think to himself,
"Indeed... the difference between mortals and Great Cultivators is like that between clouds and mud. If I didn't have that object, I'm afraid I would now be kneeling and begging for mercy!"
With that thought, he gritted his teeth and called out,
"Sir... it was I who did not recognize a great person and offended you. If you want this object, please just take it!"
Having said that, he made an effort to reach into his bosom. Shang San had grown accustomed to the fearful reverence ordinary people hold towards Great Cultivators. He never imagined that among a group of ants, there would be one who dared to rebel. Without the slightest guard against it, as he saw the elder seemingly willing to hand over the jade box, he truly believed the man was scared. Therefore, he gestured to stop the descent of the silk handkerchief. Upon seeing Shang San reaching into his bosom, he indeed pulled out the jade box, its familiar talisman seals making Shang San's heart surge with excitement. He commanded,
"Hand it over!"
The elder nodded, tried to walk a few steps, then gave a wry smile and said,
"Please retract the magical treasure, sir... I really can't move my feet!"
Shang San grunted coldly and withdrew the silk handkerchief with his hand. The elder then breathed a sigh of relief, moved forward, and presented the jade box with both hands,
"Sir, please accept this object!"
Shang San reached out to take it, but the elder's hand flipped over, and the jade box disappeared. Instead, a black, lychee-sized elixir suddenly appeared in the palm of his hand. Shang San was taken aback,
"What is this?"
He heard the elder sneer,
"Something to take your life!"
As soon as those words were said, the elder flicked his finger toward Shang San's face and quickly retreated backwards,
"Boom!"
The black, pill-like object exploded in front of Shang San's face. Although it was just a small pill, the power of the explosion was immense. Even though the old coachman had driven the carriage far away as soon as Shang San and Wei Chuan began to fight, the commotion still shook Gu Shi Yi, who was in the carriage, causing her to fall from her seat. She looked at the Youngest Miss Sun she was tightly holding in her arms, and seeing her frightened face looking back, she quickly patted and comforted her,
"Don't be afraid, it's all right!"
While she was speaking, a blood-red hand suddenly appeared on the carriage door, gripping the frame tightly. Wei Chuan's voice could be heard saying,
"Go quickly!"
The carriage instantly began to run riotously. Soon after, Wei Chuan jumped into the carriage. Gu Shi Yi held the child, her eyes widened in astonishment!
The elder, whose face was once sinister, was now like a blood gourd. It must have been because he was too close; even with his exquisite movement technique, he couldn't avoid the power of the blast. Half of his face had been torn off, and blood gushed from the wound, dyeing half of his body. Upon a closer look, one could even faintly make out his white, grinning teeth through the injury—it was extremely horrific!
To have survived such a state was indeed formidable!
Gu Shi Yi, having been in the Itinerant World for a long time, was braver than most. Although she was shocked by Wei Chuan's ghastly condition, she didn't scream; instead, she silently covered the eyes of Youngest Miss Sun!
Wei Chuan jumped into the carriage and, panting, took a seat. After a while, he caught his breath and, looking at the blood on his body, reached out for a small porcelain bottle. He stuffed several Medicine Pills into his mouth, and as he chewed, Gu Shi Yi noticed his teeth snapping together in a terrifying manner.
