The lamps began to light up as dusk fell. A large expanse of light grey clouds still hung in the sky, occasionally allowing a few rays of light to seep through.
The nights in midsummer always arrived rather late.
Ji Yanchen had just gotten off the plane. The heat of the August night was stifling, and the occasional breezes offered little relief from the sweltering heat. Glancing at the sky, he unfastened the button on his wrist, exposing a small section of it.
Assistant Zhou Ran instructed someone to handle the checked luggage before getting into the car.
Once in the car, Zhou Ran glanced at the messages on his phone, then turned to look at Ji Yanchen, "President Ji, Mrs. Ji is currently at the bar. Should we go home first, or head to the bar?"
"The bar," he said.
