The waiter pushed the door open and conveyed the news of Jiang Ni's return to the few people inside the private room at the first opportunity.
"She's back so soon. It seems like there's no trouble."
Chen Xin waved his hand dismissively.
"Are they in the next room?" Qin Jijing stopped the waiter.
The waiter halted his retreating steps and answered, "Not yet."
"Miss Jiang is still at the elevator lobby on this floor. It looks like she ran into a friend and they're chatting."
"Friend."
That was a well-chosen word. Qin Jijing subconsciously looked at Bai Shu.
In Beijing, Jiang Ni's only acquaintance was Bai Shu.
The latter had his chopsticks up to his mouth but put them down again upon noticing Qin Jijing's glance and asked:
"What friend? Male or female, tall or short?"
Bai Shu didn't think much of it, guessing it was probably some business partner Jiang Ni knew.
