Uncle Wen looked up and saw Xing Ling coming down from upstairs. He approached and asked, "Madam, are you going out?"
"Yes, I have made plans with a friend and won't be home for lunch."
"You don't have many friends around here, madam. To have a lunch date must mean you are quite close. Why not invite her over to Ye Mansion for lunch? I'll make sure to prepare everything properly," Uncle Wen probed.
"No need."
Xing Ling took a car to the café.
Upon opening the private room door, she found Xing Lan seated inside.
Perhaps due to the shock of losing her son, she looked gloomy and downcast.
Xing Ling stood there and said, "Auntie."
"Did you come alone?"
"You made up that story just to trick me into coming, didn't you?" Xing Ling asked.
"Take a seat," Xing Lan replied as she took out some documents from her bag and placed them in front of Xing Ling, "Read them yourself."
