Xie Shang escorted Wen Changling to Fu Ying's place.
Fu Ying didn't lay a finger on her; from taking off Wen Changling's shoes and covering her with a blanket, to giving her water, and washing and wiping her face, Xie Shang did it all.
"Miss Fu."
As Fu Ying was the owner of the house, Xie Shang asked her, "Could you let me be alone with Wen Changling for a while?"
Fu Ying left and closed the door behind her.
Xie Shang turned off the chandelier and switched on the bedside lamp with its soft light, then he sat down beside the bed. It was strange; even though he was right there watching her, he still missed her so much. Guilt and heartache became vines that entwined around his heart, making his breath heavy. Even so, he still wanted to see her.
Xie Shang leaned over, blocking the light, and couldn't help but caress her ear and gently kiss her.
She suddenly opened her eyes.
