"Life is a mysterious adventure, a tapestry of moments woven with threads of joy, sorrow, love, and laughter. Every experience is a puzzle piece, revealing a little more of the grand design.
With each step, the journey unfolds, leading us down winding paths of discovery and growth. Embrace the unknown, cherish every breath, and find beauty in the uncharted territories of the soul.
Life is a masterpiece we co-create with every choice, dream, and moment of love, waiting to be explored, experienced, and revealed."
These narrative words echoed in the reader's mind, who was sitting under a tree. The young reader is revealed to be a teenage girl with a black hair braid, and she was reading this poem when she heard someone's voice.
"Sophie." A voice came from the back.
Sophie turned to see her best friend, Bella, with a short neck length, brown hair, blue eyes, and a pair of glasses, running towards her. Bella then reached Sophie.
"Hi, Bella. Are you done with your debate practice?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah, but when I returned to class, you weren't there," Bella replied as she caught her breath.
"Well, because I've been here, reading." She said,
"I figured you'd be in class since the recess is coming to an end in six minutes." Bella implied.
"Why?" Sophie asked. "You've forgotten about it, haven't you? They moved geography after recess, remember?" Bella reminded her.
Sophie's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, what! What time is it?" she asked, her voice laced with panic. Bella glanced at her watch.
"Um, recess is almost over; are you coming or what?" Bella asked.
"I am coming; let me just quickly get my things," Sophie replied while picking up her stuff.
"OK, then better hurry up; you know, Mr. Russ. He doesn't like students coming late to his class."
"Yeah, I know; don't worry, I am coming," Sophie assured Bella. "Alright then," Bella said and headed back to class.
Sophie and Bella had been Best friends along with their 6 other friends for 5 years since Sophie's Family moved to Adenville, and she was now in 10th Grade in Uni Prep School. She has only started 10th grade for 4 months, now that she knows every teacher for her subjects, Mr Russ was the strictest. Knowing his character, she had to get to his class soon.
Sophie was carrying her books and heading for class after Bella had gone. To get to class, she had to cross a long hallway, and as she walked along the hallway, she looked at her things to see if there was anything she had left behind.
As she was going through her stuff, she was also walking, unaware, she bumped into someone and fell to the ground with her books.
"Oh no, I am so sorry, Sophie." The person apologised
She looked up to see that it was one of her 6 close friends, Nick. The boy had brown hair and emerald-green eyes.
"It's ok, Nick. it's my fault; I wasn't looking." Sophie said. She got up and started picking up her stuff.
Nick helped Sophie pick up her books. "So where are you going?" He asked.
"I am heading to Mr. Russ's class." She replied
"Wait, you have geography?" He asked. "Yes." She replied.
"You need to hurry then; you know the man's nature." He implied and laughed as he gave her the rest of her books and headed to his class.
Sophie laughs and replies, "Yeah." Then she went to class, and after a couple of minutes, it was time for the geography lessons.
The students greeted Mr. Russ when he entered the classroom.
"Good day, students." With a sma ile, Mr. Russ replied. When the grumpiest teacher in the whole school smiled, the students were shocked.
"Did he just smile?" "Yeah, never saw that before. , Sophie and Bella could hear the whispering around the class.
"He seems to be in a good mood today," Bella whispers to Sophie.
"Thank God for that; otherwise, he would be in a grumpy mood like always." The two of them laughed as she whispered back. Then the students quieted down.
"Students. It's my last day at this school today, and..." A shout of joy from the students interrupted Mr. Russ's voice.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that. Anyway, since I am leaving, there will be a new geography teacher I would love to introduce, Miss Rose." Mister Russ declared and welcomed the lady who entered their class.
A woman with glasses and short brown hair was seen entering the classroom by students. She seemed to be in her mid or late thirties. Turning to the class and giving them a kind smile, while greeting them.
"Good morning, ma'am." The students responded to her greetings.
"She seems nice," Sophie whispered to Bella.
"Yeah."Bella's voice was low in response.
"I'm looking forward to meeting you all." Miss Rose implied.
"Well, I'm going to be leaving now." Mr. Russ said, and after a second, the group responded by saying their goodbyes cheerfully.
"All right then, goodbye." Mr. Russ said that and left the class. Then the children turned their attention to Miss Rose.
"I'd love it if you all introduce yourself to me before we start class, Okay?" Miss Rose requested.
Everyone told her their names, and it was Sophie and Bella's turn. 'BELLA ROGERS.' Bella said. "That's nice." Miss Rose replied. 'SOPHIE AGUSTIN.' Sophie said. "That's a very nice name." Miss Rose complimented. "Thank you very much," Sophie responded.
"So what's the last thing Mr. Russ taught you?" Ms. Rose asked, to keep the lesson going. "Land formation, ma'am." One of the students answered. "Okay," said Miss Rose, "let's keep going."
Miss Rose started the lecture, and they enjoyed it because her explanation was simple and interesting, and as she was explaining, she was also telling stories. They all had a great time in the class for the first time.
"So, I hope you all get it." Miss Rose asked after the class. "Yes." Everyone responded
"Well, then, any questions?" Miss Rose asked. No one said anything. "Ok, but I have." Miss Rose implied.
Knowing that meant that she would ask them to answer questions, made them terrified. "Who can explain at least two types of landforms?" she asked.
No one responded. "No one? Then I will pick." She said,
Sophie then raised her hand. "Yes, Sophie." Miss Rose picked her.
Sophie answered the question correctly, and Miss Rose complimented her. Miss Rose asked many questions; Bella and Sophie answered more, but Sophie answered the most.
"She is smart." Miss Rose thought, "All right, class, My time is over." Said Miss Rose. "So, in this area, I've already taught Section B. Class B's been a bit more elaborate, so you can borrow their notes and make copies, all right?" She said it to the class.
In 10th grade, you can choose either Science or Arts as your course. Sophie and Bella are in science class, but Geography, English, Computer, and Maths are general subjects. Each class of the school is divided into sections A and B. The same goes for Arts, so in total, there are 4 sections for 10th grade. The same is said for 11th and 12th grade.
Miss Rose was about to leave the classroom, but she remembered something and turned back to the classroom.
"Oh, before I go, I want to tell you that there will be a school trip to the rocky areas to write a report on rocks and stones. Before we start the topic I'll tell you one thing: it's going to be 30% of your score. And the letters will be given to you before you go home. Do not worry, I've talked to the staff, and they say it's okay," she proclaimed.
Miss Rose then gave her goodbyes and left the class with a smile. "What? 30%?" One of the students said terrified. "Oh well." Another replied.
After the last class of the day, Sophie and Bella went to the office to get their letters for the trip and were heading for the school door to exit when they saw Nick, Faith, and Miles coming their way. Nick and Miles were in Section B of Science Class, while Faith, the girl with long blonde hair and cyan-coloured eyes, and their other 3 friends were in Arts Class. They're Sophie and Bella's very close friends.
"Hey guys." Bella greeted them.
"Hello Everyone." Sophie also greeted them.
"Helloooooo," Faith replied shyly.
"Hello." Miles, the boy with black hair and dark blue eyes, greeted back with an expressionless face and calmly.
"Hi." The boy, with brown hair and emerald eyes, greeted back.
"Do you guys know about the new geography teacher and the school trip?" Faith asked, her voice in low tone.
"Yes, thank goodness, Mr. Russ left," Bella replied.
"Yeah, at least we don't need to worry about coming late to class. But that doesn't mean we should be going late to class." Sophie implied.
"So, have you guys gotten your letter?" Bella asked. "I, Miles, and Faith have collected ours," Nick answered.
"Where is Phil, Brian, and Lucy?" Sophie questioned. "They went to get their letters," said Faith in a soft voice. "Oh," Sophie responded.
"Alright guys, see you tomorrow; got to go," Bella replied. "OK, Bye," Sophie said her regards, as did Faith, Miles, and Nick.
They said bye to each other and headed home. As Sophie and Miles walked home, Bella and Nick took the bus. But before they do, Sophie and Miles join Bella and Nick at the bus stop. They were having a conversation when Miles saw that Bella was lost in thoughts.
"Bella, what is it?" Miles asked, concerned. "Huh? Oh, nothing. Just that..." Bella replied but didn't finish.
They all stopped and looked at Bella.
"What is it?" Sophie expressed concern about her friend.
"I was just thinking that Miss Rose is a new teacher, so how can the school staff already agree with her for the school trip?" Bella pointed out.
They all looked at each other as Bella was making a point.
"You have a point." Sophie agreed.
"Maybe Mr Russ already had it planned and told Miss Rose about it?" Nick implied.
"Yeah, that could be it." Sophie agreed with Nick.
"You are just overthinking it," Miles said with a soft, heavy voice.
"Maybe you're right, Nick. Let's just go home." Bella agreed.
After reaching the bus stop, everyone went home.
Before Sophie gets home, she picks up her brother from a middle school near their house. On their way home Sophie asked her brother.
"How was school today, James?" "It was great, sis." James joyfully responded. "That's nice," Sophie said.
James was Sophie's 9-year-old younger brother, who was mischievous, funny, and cute to Sophie. Like every brother and sister, they were also the same. He was the spitting image of Sophie except he was a boy and short and young.
After a few minutes, they reached home. As they entered the house, they were greeted by their mother, who was preparing supper. Their mother had a bun done on her beautiful silky brown hair and her bright brown eyes sparkled to her kids back home.
"Mom, I got an A on my English test," James exclaimed as he ran to hug his mother.
"Wow, that's very good, James." She said it with a smile. She then turned to Sophie.
"What about you, dear?" She asked Sophie.
"They haven't given us ours for now," Sophie replied as she dropped her bag.
"Oh, ok, how was school?" Their mother asked as she continued preparing their meal.
"It was great," James replied joyfully. "It was great because we have a new geography teacher." Sophie also replied happily.
"Oh, then you and your friends must be very happy." Mrs. Agustin implied.
"Yes, she is much nicer," Sophie said. "What is her name?"
"Miss Rose," Sophie replied."Alright, Are you hungry?" Mrs.Agustin asked.
"Yes." Sophie and James answered in unison. "Alright then, go and change; I will set the table."
"Yes, Ma'am." They both said it in unison with a salute and went to their rooms to change and clean themselves.
Sophie went to her room, took a bath, and changed into her clothes. She then went downstairs, where her brother was sitting down at the dining table. She went to the kitchen and helped her mom.
They said their grace and started eating. After some time, they were done eating.
"Sophie, I want to go to our neighbor's house. They are moving out, so I want to give them farewell." Mom said.
"Mister and Mrs Peterson's?" Sophie asked.
"Yes, I will be gone for a while, so can you do the dishes?" she requested. "Yes, sure Mom," Sophie replied. "Thank you, Sophie." Mom appreciated.
After eating, Mrs. Agustin was preparing to leave. "Oh, and Sophie, make sure James does his homework, then he can watch TV," Mom said.
"Yes, Mom," Sophie replied.
"Alright, bye, dear." She greeted.
"Bye Mom," Sophie responded.
Mrs. Agustin then left, and Sophie cleaned the dishes and went to her room. She called James, and they both did their homework. After some hours, they finished their work and rested for a while. Around 5 p.m., James came into Sophie's room.
"What is it, James?" Sophie asked.
"Sis, I am so bored; can I watch TV?" James asked.
"Well, since you have done your homework, Okay, let me put it on." Sophie implied.
They both headed downstairs, and James sat on the couch while Sophie turned on the TV. "What do you want to watch, James?" Sophie asked as she opened Netflix.
"Robo Space Rangers," James responded loudly and cheerfully.
"Robo Space Rangers? Where did you find that?" She inquired
"My friend told me about it," James replied.
Sophie went to search for it and was relieved to find out that it was for kids. She then read the description of it.
"This looks interesting; can I join you?" asked Sophie.
"Yes, sure." He replied happily.
Sophie and James watched the movie together, after the movie ended around 6:20 pm, Mrs Agustin came back and started preparing dinner. Sophie helped her mom and noticed that the time was past 6 p.m.
Looking at the time and picking up the plates, "Mom, where's Dad?" Sophie asked.
"He said he would be late because of an unexpected meeting that came up." She replied.
"All right, that's fine," Sophie replied.
After dinner, they all went to sleep. When Sophie was sleeping, she had a very strange and scary dream. The dream was a little blurry, but she saw that she was on their school trip. And she found a cave behind a waterfall. She saw a purple stone as she walked into the cave, and she picked it up.
As soon as she touched the stone, she felt as if she had fallen into space, roaming about in nothingness. Terrified, Sophie woke up, and she was breathing heavily. She took a look around and was relieved to be in her room. She looked at the clock to see it was 2 am. She sighed in relief and went back to sleep, grateful that it was only a dream.
