Kang the Conqueror led Blake and the others to his office. After inviting everyone to sit down, he began to recount his story and the origins of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) in great detail.
It was nothing short of a legendary tale. A scientist, a thousand years in the future, used his scientific prowess to unify the entire universe. This conqueror's scientific genius seemed to surpass even Tony Stark's.
What made him even more formidable was his dissatisfaction with merely conquering space. He invented a time machine and unified the entirety of time—all of it. From a certain perspective, Kang the Conqueror had transcended dimensions.
However, his relentless time traveling caused the emergence of countless parallel universes, turning the cosmos into an infinite web of branching timelines. In these universes, countless versions of Kang were born.
Each of these Kangs, like the prime Kang, conquered their respective universes and then turned their ambitions toward time itself. Once that conquest was complete, their eyes shifted toward parallel universes.
What ensued was an unprecedented war that spanned both time and space. Due to their mastery of time travel, every Kang faced constant challenges and ambushes from alternate versions of himself at every moment.
Attack or be attacked—no one was exempt. In this war, victory wasn't measured by the lives lost but by the annihilation of entire universes.
From the moment the war erupted, time lost all meaning across every universe. No one knew how long the conflict had truly lasted.
The act of traversing time birthed new parallel universes, and these new universes brought new wars. It was a war without an end and utterly without purpose.
Gradually, some Kangs grew weary of this existence. They formed an alliance and reached a consensus, working together to devise a way to end the endless war.
Their solution was for each Kang in the alliance to establish a "Sacred Timeline" within their respective universe.
In these universes, Kang would dictate the fate of all life. They created the Time Variance Authority to ensure that all living beings would follow a predetermined path under strict surveillance.
To prevent the birth of new universes, anyone who deviated from the established timeline would be judged by the TVA and exiled to the Void—a massive realm crafted from remnants of collapsed universes.
The Kangs in this alliance hid within the Void, secretly pulling the strings. The Void became a dumping ground for unwanted timelines, and the creature Alioth, created by Kang, acted as its custodian.
As the Kang before them explained, though they had caused all this chaos, their ultimate goal was peace.
"And what about the time loop?" Blake suddenly asked. "The entire universe exists in a recurring time loop, endlessly cycling. Is that also for the so-called peace?"
Kang didn't seem surprised that Blake was aware of the time loop. With his characteristic smug smile, he replied:
"To prevent accidents. Looking forward, it's about stopping the version of myself who appears in the 31st century—that would bring disaster. I can establish a timeline where everything in the universe follows a specific path, but that timeline must be one that has truly happened before. And in every timeline that has ever existed, I have always invented the time machine."
"And looking backward? What about the so-called past from your perspective?" Blake asked.
"The Celestials," Kang said with a hint of helplessness.
"They're beings almost as old as the universe itself. My science allows me to create tools to harness the rules of the universe, but they embody and completely control those rules. Infinity Stones—you have them, yes? You merely use them, but the Celestials can fully command them."
At this, Kang's face showed a trace of disbelief.
Blake, on the other hand, displayed a peculiar expression—part smirk, part sneer.
Unfortunately, Kang didn't notice Blake's reaction. Lost in his own memories and lingering fear, Kang continued speaking.
"They created the history of the universe, scattered their genes among various species, guided them to build civilizations, and destroyed those that dared to resist them!"
"They are the supreme gods of the universe—far beyond the so-called gods of Asgard or beings like Ego, who is just the consciousness of a planet. They do not tolerate the slightest blasphemy. The Eternals, the Deviants, and even humans on Earth all carry fragments of their genetic code."
"They are an incredibly terrifying group. Fortunately, during their long existence, they vanished from the universe. I severed the connection to the past timeline precisely after the last of the Celestials had completely disappeared."
The sheer volume of information in Kang's words overwhelmed Blake, making it impossible for him to process everything at once. There were too many things he didn't know.
What he could confirm, however, was that Kang was unaware of Blake's ability to fully control the Infinity Stones in the future, as well as his identity as a transmigrator.
"And what about me? Why hasn't the Time Variance Authority taken action against me?"
After some hesitation, Blake finally voiced the question.
"In the future that the Ancient One foresaw, I didn't exist. I suppose you're already aware of this," he added.
"Exactly! You don't appear in the predetermined timeline," Kang replied without any surprise.
"You're an anomaly. When I created the timeline, I deliberately split the Eternals and the Deviants to prevent the emergence of a new group of Celestials. The genes of these two races can recombine to form Celestials, and that's something I absolutely cannot allow."
"Likewise, the Eternals didn't want to see it happen either. So, I reached an agreement with them, dividing the timeline into two interconnected yet mutually isolated loops—like a hula hoop made of two distinct colors."
"I don't interfere with the progress of their world as long as everything stays within the established trajectory."
"But no one could have predicted that a completely isolated world would be breached by your soul traversing over. It just goes to show that the universe truly is full of infinite possibilities!"
Blake nodded slightly before pressing on, "You still haven't gotten to the point."
"Right, right! The point is why the TVA hasn't acted against you despite you disrupting the Sacred Timeline. It's because you weren't originally part of this Sacred Timeline. Think of it like an antivirus program on a computer—it monitors all files within the system, but you're not part of its database."
"Of course, this anomaly could be corrected. But, as I mentioned earlier, I've encountered some... complications. I was killed—by a female Loki, to be precise. A version of me from a particular timeline was killed, which caused a disruption in the TVA's operations, preventing them from acting against you immediately."
"But later, my perspective changed. I wanted to see, with my own eyes, how you would alter everything!"
Kang looked directly at Blake, emphasizing each word as he spoke.
