Chapter 5 - System Items

"Pepper, do you think I can learn this kind of martial arts?"

Tony Stark turned to Pepper Potts and asked.

Pepper looked troubled.

"Tony, today you're supposed to assign jobs to the interns who passed. I think we should finish our work first before discussing martial arts."

"No, no, no! I've already found a good job for Mr. Blake here—my personal combat coach. You handle scheduling and discussing his salary."

Tony Stark said with certainty.

"I need to get back to my lab now. I have a set of missile data to process. You handle the scheduling, Pepper. Goodbye, Coach."

Tony Stark didn't ask for Blake's agreement. He picked up his jacket, stood up, and left on his own.

That was so Tony Stark. Even in his past life, when Blake watched Marvel movies, Iron Man was his favorite character.

Still, he had an urge to punch Tony's smug face. You decide to make me your coach, but did you even ask me?

However, to better get close to the character, Blake gave a self-deprecating smile and said nothing.

Pepper took a step forward and said understandingly.

"Sorry, Tony is always like this. I hope you don't mind!"

Blake shrugged nonchalantly.

"No problem. At least I know he won't disappoint me when it comes to salary, right?"

Pepper smiled too. "As you wish, you won't be disappointed."

...

...

Blake had thought that the system would open the shop fully, but it turned out to be just a level-one shop.

Even with just the level-one shop, Blake felt his 500 points were insufficient.

However, since he already had the effects of the primary super serum, he could skip the most expensive item.

After some thought, Blake chose the [Primary Combat Techniques] and the [E-level Combat Suit].

It was perfect because they added up to exactly 500 points.

Secondly, the primary combat skills are something he can use immediately and are currently the best option to increase his combat abilities.

As for the combat suit, not only did it match his points perfectly, but early on, defense against firearms was also necessary.

Following the storyline, whether he faces Iron Monger or has to go to Afghanistan for a battle, having this combat suit will ease many of Blake's worries.

At least for now, he hasn't reached the point of being invulnerable to bullets and blades.

The level two shop requires accumulating 5,000 points to fully unlock.

For now, Blake can only exchange for these two items to enhance himself.

The system didn't give any new tasks for the moment, but Pepper Potts offered Blake a weekly salary of $100,000.

This made Blake's life in this world much more comfortable.

However, since their last meeting, Tony Stark seemed to have buried himself in the lab.

He didn't schedule any lessons with Blake, leaving Blake temporarily idle.

With nothing better to do, Blake started spending his evenings at bars, enjoying a bit of nightlife.

Due to Hollywood's presence in Los Angeles, the bars here are world-class.

After all, many celebrities and wealthy people gather here.

Recently, Blake found a bar that suited his taste, The Roger Room!

The reason being, this bar was filled mostly with young people, couples, singles, and aspiring actors who had just come to Hollywood and weren't famous yet.

Compared to other bars, the people here were relatively simple.

Although Blake had some flirtatious intentions, he didn't want to encounter overly experienced women or those just after his money.

Most importantly, Blake didn't like those who seemed too world-weary.

After several days, Blake finally set his sights on a target.

She seemed like a young girl with dreams of becoming a star, with a very delicate appearance.

Blake had been observing her for a few days and decided to make his move today.

Just as he was about to stand up, he suddenly heard a slightly husky but very seductive female voice.

"Hi! Are you leaving? Why not stay a bit longer and have a drink with me?"

Blake instinctively turned around.

He almost let out an shriek.

Standing before him was none other than the Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff.

Like Pepper Potts and Tony Stark, she seemed to have an automatic adjustment in this real world.

The Black Widow looked even more youthful than in the movies. Today, she wasn't wearing her usual form-fitting black suit that made hearts race.

Instead, she was in an elegant red dress.

With an angelic face, she lacked the ruggedness of typical Western features.

Her fair skin glowed faintly under the lights.

Her impressive chest was partially revealed by the dress, highlighting her luminous skin.

Absolutely stunning!

Blake couldn't think of any other words to describe her. This founding Avenger made an entrance that left Blake utterly awestruck.

Of course, while he was shocked, Blake didn't lose his composure. He quickly reviewed in his mind if he had done anything since arriving in this world that would attract S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra's attention.

The only connection might be the assassination attempt on Isaiah, likely by Hydra, but the assassin was dealt with by Isaiah, and the system's arrangements kept him off their radar.

It should be safe.
