The young woman's beautiful amber eyes slightly widened at Lin Xuanhao's extraordinary appearance as she stared at him for a few moments before standing up and starting to walk towards him.
She had a beautiful appearance with a bearing that might have made others think that she had a great background had it not been for her drunken state.
However, no one dared to stare at her blatantly except for a few individuals with a bearing similar to her, all of them sitting away from eachother yet watching over her, as if curious to see what will she do.
Lin Xuanhao simply ignored all of that and continued waiting for his food. He had already seen through the cultivation of all those who were present here, and none of them surpassed the Meridian Connecting Realm.
The young woman coming towards him was at the Fifth Stage of Meridian Connecting Realm herself.
As she arrived in front of the table, facing Lin Xuanhao, she slammed her hand at the table, momentarily shaking the the surroundings, causing Lin Xuanhao to slightly raise his eyebrow.
She just stared at his face for a few seconds before finally speaking out, "Little brother...you seem like an unfamiliar face..are you new here..?"
Her words came out with stops in between, making it clear that she definitely wasn't in her right mind at the moment after drinking the Spirit Wine.
Lin Xuanhao smiled lightly as he answered, "Yes, I will be staying in the Red Dragon City for the week. I wonder who the fellow daoist here is?"
If he was cultivating and someone acted so brazenly before him, he might have taken an offense, but he didn't mind the rude way the young woman talked as he was not cultivating for now. Yes, cultivation was more important than eating.
Hearing his words, the young woman chuckled as she reached out her hand towards Lin Xuanhao's face as she spoke, "You're really good looking, you know..."
However, before she could even touch him, a invisible force blocked her hand, making her unable to move even an inch. She was stunned for a moment before realizing that it was Spirit Qi from the surroundings which obstructed her hand as she threw a surprised glance at Lin Xuanhao before pulling her hand away slowly.
"Oh..to be able to do such a thing...your cultivation must be very high..but do you know who I am...?"
The young woman asked, her gaze scrutinizing Lin Xuanhao, a common instinct of Immortal Cultivators even in their drunken state.
"I don't, but you must surely know that you shouldn't mess with any random person walking down the street, who knows what kind of person they are?"
Lin Xuanhao replied with a smile, his words attracting the attention of not just the young woman but also those sitting nearby.
All of them couldn't help but wonder if the young man at the table had an extraordinary status or just an extremely strong cultivation base backing him up.
The young woman smirked, seemingly having sobered up a bit as she spoke.
"Oh? I'm the only daughter of the Pavillion Master of Blissful Pavillion. Are you provoking me?"
Lin Xuanhao just shook his head gently at her words as he said, "What would I get out of provoking you?"
The Blissful Pavillion was one of the top three factions in the Red Dragon City alongside the Azure River Alliance and the Luoshan Temple excluding the City Lord's Mansion.
Lin Xuanhao, although not having much knowledge of the inner structure of the Red Dragon City, knew of these three powers because of the many conversations he had heard about them since entering the city.
Since the Blissful Pavillion was one of the top three powers, it was natural for them to have multiple Qi Refining Realm cultivators.
The young woman just smiled at him and, with a wave of her hand, pulled a nearby chair with Spirit Qi before sitting down on it.
"You're interesting. Are you not afraid that I'll take your words as an offense? Or do you just trust your backing that much?"
She asked with a hint of amusement in her tone of voice.
"I don't have any backing. I'm just replying to your words like a normal person would."
Lin Xuanhao replied casually, and by this time, the food had already arrived on the table.
"So you-"
"Young lady Wen, it's already late. Why don't you head back home and stop pestering this fellow daoist here?"
Before she could continue speaking, another voice coming from behind interrupted her, causing an annoyed expression to surface on her face.
"The Vice Captain of the Fourth Unit of the prestigious City Guards, instead of patrolling the city, why are you going around ordering people, more specifically, ordering me?"
The young woman retorted, snorting as she turned around to see a young man seeming to be in his late twenties, dressed in a black armor robe which was embroidered with the symbol of the City Guards on the shoulders, easily recognizable at first glance.
"You're as rude as ever, young lady Wen."
The young man said as he turned his gaze to Lin Xuanhao, scrutinizing him for an instance, slightly shocked that he couldn't see through the latter's cultivation before he spoke up politely, cupping his fists.
"Fellow daoist, you must be new here in the Red Dragon City as I've never seen you around before. My name is Li Yunzi, the Vice Captain of the City Guards' Fourth Unit and the son of the Head of City Guards."
Li Yunzi introduced himself with a warm tone of voice, to which Lin Xuanhao also nodded with a smile and replied, "I'm Lin Xuanhao, and I only arrived in the Red Dragon City today morning. I'll be staying here for a while, so it'll be nice if Vice Captain Li here could introduce me to the city and it's structure."
"Haha, of course, fellow daoist Lin."
Li Yunzi laughed lightly as he also pulled a chair close and sat down, ordering food for himself as well.
He began to explain the various things about the Red Dragon City, with Lin Xuanhao listening intently and occasionally asking questions.
The young woman acted a bit distant at first before eventually joining the conversation, lightening the atmosphere.
Lin Xuanhao learned that the young woman's full name was Wen Qin, and she was the eldest and only daughter of the Blissful Pavillion Master. She had a younger brother who was to join the Immortal Sect because of him possessing Heavenly Spirit Roots of Five Elements, while she was to inherit the Blissful Pavillion.
On the other hand, Li Yunzi, being the only child of the Head of City Guards, he not only possessed remarkable combat ability but also the Heavenly Spirit Roots of Five Elements. At the age of 26, he was already at the Ninth Stage of Meridian Connecting Realm.
Despite that, he refused to join the Immortal Sect as he wanted to take on the position of his father instead, and then only join the Immortal Sect years later as an Inner Disciple or Outer Elder.
Lin Xuanhao quiet liked the two of them, and planned to give them a parting gift before leaving after he reached the Qi Refining Realm.
They talked late till midnight, when only a few of the cultivators from before were left in the restaurant and the surroundings had also turned somewhat quiet. Most cultivators in the early stages of Immortal Cultivation liked to cultivate during the night and leave the day for extracurricular activities such as their other professions, including but not limited to Artifact Refinement, Alchemy, Talisman Making etcetera.
There were countless similar professions in the path of Immortal Cultivation which could be used by cultivators to get resources and aid in their cultivation journey.
At this moment, Lin Xuanhao, Wen Qin, and Li Yunzi exited the restaurant.
"It was really nice meeting you, fellow daoist Lin. Although it's a shame you'd only be staying in the Red Dragon City for a few more days, I do hope we meet again sometime."
Li Yunzi said with a sigh, cupping his fists.
"Likewise, Vice Captain Li. I'll surely invite the two of you to have a meal together sometime before departing."
Lin Xuanhao replied, a calm smile on his face.
"I apologize once again if I was rude to you in any way, fellow daoist Lin. To be honest, you looked like one of those arrogant youngsters who like to boast about their might everywhere, and I was too drunk at the time, causing me to behave that way."
Wen Qin shook her head as she said this, a small smile on her face.
"It seems my image in your mind has gone up since then, hasn't it, Miss Wen?"
Lin Xuanhao said jokingly as the three of them exchanged a few more words before finally parting ways.
On the way back to his temporary cave abode, Lin Xuanhao looked up at the starry sky with an unwavering gaze and smiled softly as he remembered something.
It's nice to have moments like this once in a while. I had almost forgotten about it after becoming an Immortal Emperor.
