In the center of the large yard, surrounded by a stone fence, a long wooden table was set up with food being served.
-----------------------------------
Zephyr, Trinity, Gwendolyn, Brixton, and Nixie all had strange and uncomfortable expressions on their faces, constantly shifting. Every now and then, a strange and bitter gaze would glance at them, making them shiver slightly.
"Hey, Big bro Felix, is there something on our faces?" Nixie asked nervously.
Felix, who was sitting across from them at the table, snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Nixie puzzled. "Ahem... no, there is nothing on your faces. Why do you ask?"
"Then why are you looking at us like that? You've been staring at us weirdly for the past twenty minutes or so," Nixie pointed out.
Zephyr and the others nodded, also looking at Felix with confusion.
"It's nothing, I was just thinking about something," Felix waved his hand dismissively.
"Big bro, are you really okay?" Brixton asked, sounding worried.
"I'm perfectly fine, as I told you earlier," Felix said nonchalantly.
"Then why is your hand trembling?" Nixie rolled her eyes, glancing at Felix's shaking hand. Zephyr and the others also noticed Felix's strange behavior since they sat down to eat.
Felix coughed slightly, looking at his trembling hand with twitching lips. "Don't worry, I'm just feeling a bit cold," he said.
"Is your injury acting up again? I told you that you weren't fine, but you're still being stubborn," Trinity complained in a concerned tone.
"I'm just feeling a little cold," Felix waved his hand, lowering his head to continue eating in silence. But deep down, he was feeling shocked and frustrated.
"Dang, how can I calm down when you guys are so badass," Felix grumbled inside.
When Felix saw their talent statuses, he was shocked and speechless. He almost had a heart attack. He even suspected that the previous Felix had purposely rescued them because he knew about their talents.
How else could he have gathered such a group of talented individuals just by buying slaves and rescuing people off the street? Especially Trinity and Gwendolyn.
Trinity had a 9-star talent in Knight Cultivation, and Gwendolyn had a 9-star talent in Mage Cultivation.
What really blew his mind was that Gwendolyn was not fully human, but a half-Elf and an Elemental Elf at that. Felix didn't know much about the division among the Elven Race, but he was sure that an Elemental Elf was quite powerful.
Trinity's talent status almost made his eyes pop out of their sockets. Her talent in Knight Cultivation was even stronger than his own. She also had a bloodline that was currently sealed.
Felix thought bitterly, "According to the novels I've read in my previous life, characters with sealed or unawakened bloodlines are super talented and badass characters."
The joy of knowing he had talents in both Knight and Mage Cultivation disappeared. He was simply too shocked and speechless.
"Fortunately, they are on my side," Felix thought in relief.
Narrowing his eyes, Felix thought about Trinity's talent status.
-------------------------------
Name: Trinity
Race: Human
Bloodline: Sealed
Cultivation: Mortal [Damaged]
Talent: Knight Cultivation [9 Stars] [Management: 6 Stars]
---------------------------------
Felix was perplexed and confused about her damaged Cultivation status. He asked the system, and it explained that she might have been in a certain Cultivation stage previously, but her Cultivation had been damaged.
"It seems Trinity's background is mysterious," Felix mused, furrowing his brows.
When the previous Felix took them all in, he didn't ask about their backgrounds. So, currently, Felix doesn't know anything about their past, and he's not going to pry. If they want to share, they will in their own time. Felix snapped out of his thoughts and continued eating his food. The table was alive with noise as the children chatted among themselves. Zephyr and the others also enjoyed their meal and conversation. Felix looked around with a bright smile, savoring the simple but delicious food. After dinner, Felix leaned back in his chair, satisfied, while picking his teeth.
Gwendolyn and Nixie had already sent the children to bed, and Trinity was cleaning up. Zephyr and Brixton stood behind Felix, watching him with amusement.
"Let's go," Felix suddenly said, standing up and heading out of the yard. Zephyr and Brixton quickly followed.
"Where are you guys off to?" a voice called out. Turning around, Felix saw Trinity, Gwendolyn, and Nixie looking at them suspiciously.
Felix smiled, "Just getting some fresh air. The air here is a bit stuffy, right, Brixton?" Felix nudged Brixton.
"Yeah, big sister, just some fresh air," Brixton chimed in, looking at Zephyr for support.
Zephyr hesitated for a moment, then said, "Yeah, Trinity, just some fresh air."
"What's wrong with the air here?" Trinity asked, narrowing her eyes.
"Nothing wrong with the air, we just want a change of scenery," Felix replied casually.
" Ok, then you guys should hurry back ".With a shrug, Trinity let them go.
" Alright then " Felix nodded but he heaved a sign of relief.
As Felix walked out of the house, he glanced up at the three huge, silvery white moons hanging high in the night sky. His silver eyes filled with coldness and killing intent.
"Let's hurry back before Trinity and the others start to suspect something," Felix said to Zephyr and Brixton, urging them to move quickly.
"Bix bro, what are you planning to do with the task you gave us earlier?" Brixton asked, looking concerned and confused.
"Hehehe, you'll find out in a few minutes," Felix laughed creepily.
Seeing Felix's strange behavior, Zephyr narrowed his eyes. "Big bro, don't be impulsive. You know we can't go against them in our current state."
"Don't worry, Zephyr. I know what I'm doing," Felix said with a smirk.
"But big bro, you always said we shouldn't mess with them. Why are you suddenly going against them?" Brixton asked, puzzled.
Felix stopped and looked at Zephyr and Brixton with a serious expression. "If we don't do something, they'll keep coming after us. We can handle their attacks, but what about the children? If they decide to target them, it'll be a disaster. We need to act before things get out of hand."
Zephyr and Brixton thought about Felix's words, understanding his point.
"But big bro, we can't take them on right now. They have too many people on their side," Zephyr reasoned.
"Who said we're going to fight them head-on?" Felix smiled wickedly.
"What do you mean?" Zephyr asked, confused.
"Did you guys figure out what I asked you to do?" Felix didn't answer directly.
" Yeah " Brixton nodded.
He nodded and motioned for them to follow as they continued on their way through alleys and small paths, moving quickly.
--------------------------------
In the heart of the slums of Bridgemoor City, collapsed and rundown buildings littered the area. Beggars could be seen sleeping in these buildings, barely clothed and shivering on the cold floor.
Among the maze of alleys, a drunken man stumbled unsteadily down a road filled with potholes, cursing and tripping over the filth.
Suddenly, the man heard faint footsteps behind him.
Before he could even turn around to see who was following him, a heavy object struck him on the head, knocking him unconscious.
Shadowy figures appeared beside his body, with Felix at the front.
"Tie him up," Felix commanded, as Zephyr nodded and followed through. "Okay, let's bring him to the designated spot," Felix ordered, waving his hand.
----------------------------------
Ten minutes later, inside a collapsed building, Felix glanced at the man tied to a wooden pole and signaled to Brixton.
Brixton immediately doused the man with a bucket of cold water, jolting him awake and sobering him up.
The man looked around in fear, realizing he was tied to a pole. "Stop struggling, you can't move, so quit wasting your energy," Felix said, watching the man's futile attempts to break free.
The man looked at Felix with wide eyes, trembling as he asked, "Who are you? Do you know who I am?"
"I don't care who you are, and I don't need to know," Felix replied with a smirk, unimpressed by the man's threats.
"Release me now! I'm from the Smoke Gang, and if anything happens to me, the Smoke Gang won't let you go," the man shouted.
Felix chuckled at the name. "What a lame name! The Smoke Gang, ha ha ha!" he laughed.
The man continued to struggle and shout, demanding to be set free.
" Well Mr. I can't do that " Felix said with a smile, " You see, your tiny, worthless life is going to serve a greater purpose" Felix smiled with a wicked grin.
The man looked at Felix wicked grin and shivered, fear gripped his heart.
" Please don't kill me " the man face paled as he begged Felix.
Felix shook his head and slowly took out a small dagger out of his pocket, slowing walking up to man.
" Please don't kill me, I have a wife and children at home, please don't kill me " The man struggle on the wooden pole with a paled face, his eyes were filled with deep fear and terror.
" Big bro.." Brixton who was behind Felix face also paled as he thought of what Felix was about to do.
Although Zephyr face was also pale but he was much calmer than Brixton.
Felix walked up to the man and with a single slashed he slit his throat opened, blood immediately gushed out like a fountain. Fortunately Felix was able to dodge from getting his body drenched in blood.
Turning around, Felix looked at Zephyr and Brixton and said, " You know what to do, follow the plan ".
" Our revenge starts now " Felix said with a grim smile.
