David pulled into the driveway of the Raye Mansion, feeling a rare sense of calm. The hotel construction was well underway, and with the timeline set to wrap up in two weeks, he had more free time than expected.
He'd spent just under twenty million so far, a fraction of the hundred-million-dollar budget, and while the project progressed smoothly, the same couldn't be said about life at the mansion.
As David stepped out of his car, Jack appeared by his side, his ever-alert expression suggesting he'd been waiting for him.
"Welcome back, young master," Jack greeted, holding the door open for him.
"Thanks," David replied, stepping inside the grand entrance hall. "Any news?"
"Not much," Jack said as they walked through the familiar corridors. "Sir Martin is still out of the country. He'll be back next week."
