Okay. This has gone on long enough.
I get to my feet, my face etched in a murderous glare. Zara can probably see the anger in my eyes because fear flashes in hers and she takes a step backwards.
"I do not remember asking you for any favours, Zara." I say through gritted teeth. "And I will not compromise my self-respect for money. This offer of yours is just an avenue for you to disrespect me, my family and my business."
I take another step forward, getting in her face.
"I don't care if your little friend is paying billions of dollars for the job. She can find another designer. I'm not interested."
Zara blinks in surprise.
"How dare you reject my offer after all the stress I passed through to convince Hannah? Do you know how much she's willing to pay for your mediocre work? Do you realise how much you're throwing down the drain?"
