ATHENA
My heart thuds wildly against my ribcage when I sight Jasmine's name across the screen. I told her that she shouldn't call me anytime before three PM if it wasn't an emergency. The time is 2:51 PM right now.
I swipe at the screen with shaky fingers and her screech nearly sends me straight to Deaf Town.
"Athena!! Where are you?!"
I pull the phone a few inches away from my ear to give my eardrums a chance to recover. When I'm satisfied that she's no longer screaming, I place it back.
"Jasmine?"
"Chipmunk, you need to get your arse back to work immediately!"
"Why? What's going on?"
"Did you forget that you were supposed to deliver a dress to the mayor's wife for her birthday party today?"
I freeze.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" I squeal, hurrying to the door. "I completely forgot about the dress."
With all the commotion going on in my life right now, I'm lucky if I even remember to wake up in the morning.
