"Take some time to replenish your innate mana while thinking about the spell you made. Obviously, I can't teach you anything about light magic, but I can let you train in an environment rich in light elements."
Kyrian nodded as he closed his eyes and focused on replenishing his mana by absorbing the ambient mana. It takes him a bit longer to replenish his mana since the ambient mana has a different grade than his innate mana of Supreme grade.
Although having a Supreme grade mana means that he would consume less mana when using magic compared to his peers, the situation of creating a new spell and casting a learned spell are two different things.
Normally, a standard rank 2 spell cast by a rank 2 mage would not consume a lot of mana. But Kyrian is a bit different. He spent a lot of innate mana by a lot of trial and error in finding the correct pathway for the mana to create his desired spell. It was just that with his [Eyes of Divinity], the process was faster but also more exhausting. If he had cast the [Pyre Blade] as if he already knew it, then the spell wouldn't take a lot of toll on him.
Kyrian reviewed the way he had cast the spell and thought on how to improve his efficiency in creating more spells. Spell creation during battle would be fatal if he had tried that in a real battle. No one would be as kind as his master to watch him concentrate while breaking apart the [Cage of Steel] debuff.
The golden-eyed boy looked at the traces of mana left behind the spell, and analyzed the pathways while looking for ways that can make his spell creation easier. He thought that he could create a lot of spells while training, that would be good. But he also has to consider the adaptability and potential of creating spells on the fly.
Mechanical whirring sounded as the machine and platform separated from the training grounds as it changed its form from a thin metal sheet to a comfortable open carriage.
As Kyrian was focusing on making his efficiency better, the small platform that they were standing on moved towards the skies. He thought that they were moving towards a new facility where light element was rich and resumed his focus while his eyes were closed.
He didn't mind moving towards the location while replenishing his mana, but he noticed that as they moved away from the estate, the quality of mana decreased until he felt that it was harder to refine Supreme quality innate mana.
"Master, where are we going?"
"Please focus on replenishing your mana." A deep voice sounded as Kyrian attempted to focus. The voice was a bit different from his master, but he brushed it aside and attributed it as a sign of his exhaustion.
Kyrian couldn't focus on refining his innate mana as the ambient mana was getting thinner. He also noticed that they weren't moving forwards or backwards, they were moving upward.
As they got closer to the barrier that was blocking anyone from leaving the world, the harder it was for Kyrian to breathe. Just as mana was getting thinner, the air was also the same.
"Master, I can't focus. It's hard… to… breathe…" Kyrian was gasping for air as the speed of their ascent was getting faster and faster. His body couldn't cope with the sudden change in atmospheric pressure and the little air he had was getting thinner.
The man brought out a small artifact that has blue outlines along its sides and a circular interface where he tapped a few buttons until it diffused air and normalized the environment to accommodate Kyrian.
The boy let out a breath of relief as he gathered as much air as he could to compensate for the air that he lost.
"I would appreciate it if you had done that earlier, Master Horace." Kyrian looked up to his master with a mean look, but it wasn't Horace.
"Apologies, young master Kyrian. I miscalculated in taking account for your adjustment towards atmospheric pressure. Master Horace left me in your care as he had an important meeting." A deep voice resounded as the steel puppet butler explained his side.
Kyrian's eyes glowed as he activated his innate talent and saw that obviously, it wasn't his master standing in front of him. That was already apparent as the person standing in front of him was the butler that welcomed them when he first arrived in Zemof estate, Mister Lars.
He just checked if it really was a puppet of his master or if he had been kidnapped. His [Eyes of Divinity] confirmed that it was his master's steel puppet, and it has a rank 6 aura emanating from its steel vessel.
"Mister Lars? Master? How should I address you? Aren't you a steel puppet made by Master Horace?"
"That is correct, young master Kyrian. Although all puppets can be controlled by the creator, we are given enough autonomy to develop our own personalities. We have our wants and needs, but the order and will of Master Horace is above all. As of now, I don't think Master Horace will know what we are talking about unless he purposefully wants to know about it. We also report to him if there are anything worth reporting."
"As for addressing me, it would be an honor to be called Mister Lars by my creator's disciple. Also, take note that the young master would easily know if Master Horace's split consciousness took over this vessel as my eyes would turn all white. It is a method he developed to reduce confusion among puppets since there were some mischievous puppets who would pretend to be Master Horace when he gave us free will." Lars looked like he was reminiscing about the good times.
"If master had created all those puppets and had given you free will, then why couldn't he just make rebellion impossible by programming you all to have unconditional loyalty?"
"It really wasn't a rebellion, young master. It was just a prank. Though, I don't doubt that master already knew what was happening back then and he was just bored so he let those mischievous puppets roam around to have a little bit of entertainment."
"That's the master I know, alright." The two of them grinned as they agreed that their master was unpredictable.
