We were forced to leave the ship behind after that day since our next destination required a carriage instead of a boat. We returned once to gather our belongings, and Killian brought the person who was asleep on the boat. The fact that he hasn't woken up yet is really strange.
Currently, we were all watching Jin by the road leading out of the forest. The village we were in was about 8 kilometers from the western coast, and the place we were heading to was the main city.
The city of the west managed by the StarHold family, my and Jin's hometown. Both of us had unpleasant memories there, but we still decided to return. Jin closed his eyes for about a minute, and soon the mana around his hand started to distort strangely.
He could transform mana into a specific type of metal and natural fuel, then into a vehicle. Of course, this required a certain understanding, so his design was mostly rudimentary, lacking any required safety precautions.
At least we wouldn't need to buy horses or something similar... Although we are in the future now, that only applies to the five main cities and some areas directly surrounding them.
As for the coastal regions, they are straight out of the medieval ages. Even firearms can't be found here, let alone an advanced car. The path we would take was relatively safe since a forest separated us from the waves of monsters.
We might face the risk of encountering primitive monsters by taking this route, but the chance was very low. The west had the largest military force among the four royal families, so there were stable travel routes unlike other areas.
Of course, traveling from the coast to the western city was still very dangerous. Without Jin and Elara, I wouldn't have taken it. I would have waited for the annual StarHold forces specialized in driving out monster waves and traveled with them to the city.
But now, I felt safer going with Jin and Elara, not because they were stronger but because I trusted them more. At least I wouldn't die anonymously in my sleep. And Jin is now a complete killing machine; one of the family's elders would have to come personally to defeat him.
Time passed very slowly, but seeing a large carriage emerge from nowhere was worth the wait. It wasn't impressive in design, just a huge wooden platform with large wheels at each corner, and no engine even.
"There's a device that moves the wheels using mana. It consumes a lot, but I can't find another solution."
Just feeling the mana around each wheel was enough to terrify me. The total mana around the wheel was comparable to a B+ rank monster. After creating the platform and wheels, Jin placed a cover around it for protection and privacy, ensuring there were doors and windows.
Due to his lack of understanding of how cars worked, he would have to consume mana at a terrifying rate to move this vehicle. If we had a well-made car from the center of the human domain, half the fuel Jinn used now would be enough to run it for a lifetime.
Knowledge is that important...
Without any complaints, we boarded the carriage, trying not to think about the safety measures of this thing.
The carriage was at least large, about the size of a bus. Each person had a small room, and the corridor barely fit one person. Jin went to the front and started moving the carriage slowly.
"...", the shaking of the carriage made me speechless. I would have fallen if I hadn't prepared myself.
Even Elara and Killian looked at Jin with some concern, but no one said anything in the end. This was better than a horse-drawn carriage, at least, and faster too.
I tried to stabilize myself in the narrow corridor and entered one of the empty rooms. It was three meters by three meters, pretty good for a temporary carriage.
I closed the door and went to the corner, holding the window with my left hand to steady myself and took something out of my inventory.
After many attempts to persuade Jin, I ended up getting the sacred fruits, despite Elara's repeated objections.
I convinced Jin by saying they were for special research. It was a very convincing lie given the fame of my pharmaceutical skills. Everyone in the palace knew about my potions. I would have been very popular if Loana hadn't intervened and covered up the matter.
I can't imagine the image she planted about me among the western residents… Maybe she made me out to be a lazy gaming addict with no life goals.
I held a sacred fruit in my hand, checked my phone a bit before starting to eat.
In the four months I was enslaved, dozens of different missions appeared, and I completed some unconsciously.

"..." It's impressive that all the missions were in my favor, as if the person writing the missions had changed.
I still remember the mission to spread a scandal about myself and to kill myself even now. Is it possible that the missions became serious because I was in real danger? Does the person sending the missions need me alive?
But why give me a mission to kill myself then? Maybe they need me as a free man? Or at least sane?
I scratched my head, feeling a bit of a headache. There's no evidence of the real reason, so I'll ignore it for now. I now have 210 Creator's Points, which is very good. Maybe I can find a cure for my body through the phone?
Before heading to the crafting section, I noticed I skipped a mission previously. I went back to see it.
Maybe I got another reward? No harm in getting more points.
—-----
Mission: Destroy puppet's Society.
Classification: SS-
Reward: 1000 Crafter Points
Description: Completely destroy the puppet's Society, leaving no chance for its return.
Mission still ongoing.
—-----
"Wasn't the puppet's Society destroyed?!!!" I hit the wooden wall behind me. It didn't break because it was reinforced with mana.
I felt an unparalleled anger. How is the puppet's Society still ongoing, for god's sake?
Didn't Jin destroy the facility and kill all the scientists? Didn't he destroy the barrier and end the lives of the three guardians?
Besides the children taken on the ships to the outside world, everyone on the upper island died.
Did Jin leave one or two people there? How did they manage to hide from him even?
"Are you okay?!" Killian suddenly opened the door, his expression very serious.
When he saw my face, he became even more serious.
"Don't worry… I might have overreacted a bit. It's just a trivial matter…"
I calmed myself and decided to keep it to myself for now.
If I told them that the puppet's Society survived, they would probably believe me, but I'm sure they would go back to destroy it again.
There's no problem in doing it directly, but if I delay going to the west any longer, I will lose all my chances of taking the family throne for myself. Most of the plans I thought of would be ruined, and it might significantly affect the plan to expel the Demon King.
I took some time to convince Killian that everything was really okay, then sent him out myself. I swore to myself that I would return and destroy everything related to that society when I ascend the family throne.
I won't let something like that continue to exist as it pleases, ever!
