"It's... embarrassing, just stand up!" I blurted out.
Jin looked up, meeting my gaze.
"In our situation, we don't have the luxury of friendly relationships," he said, his voice carrying an uncharacteristic resignation.
"Then stand up," I sighed, returning to my seat. He did the same.
"With a war on the horizon, the three races are on the brink of fighting one another. Instead of bolstering our forces, we're actually weakening them," I explained grimly.
"Convincing the Supreme Commander to pull back from war by using his wife could be difficult but not impossible," I suggested.
Jin replied, "As far as I know, this war is beyond human control."
I nodded. "Yes, the dwarves started it, then the goblins joined."
I looked up at the ceiling, feeling a weight lift from my chest just by sharing these worries.
If only I had more allies like Jin... It would ease the burden. Unfortunately, I knew that was wishful thinking.
