Chapter 52 - Return to Mt. Sagiri and First Mission

As Tanjiro and Bell descended the mountain path, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. The trees loomed tall and majestic around them, their leaves whispering secrets in the gentle breeze. Tanjiro's heart raced not just from the thrill of the Final Selection but from the eagerness to reunite with his sister, Nezuko. He glanced at Bell, who walked with an air of calm assurance that soothed his nerves.

"Bell," Tanjiro began, his voice slightly hesitant, "I wanted to explain more about Nezuko. She... she's a demon now."

Bell tilted his head, his expression unfazed. "A demon? You mean, like the ones we fought?"

Tanjiro nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "Yes. She was turned into a demon when our family was attacked by Muzan's minions. I found her unconscious, and she only woke up recently. But she's not like the others. She doesn't attack humans—she actually fights to protect them."

A relaxed smile spread across Bell's face. "As long as she doesn't harm anyone, I think that's alright. Demons are people too, in a way, right?"

Tanjiro's heart swelled with relief. "Exactly! I've trained with her, and she can fight alongside me. I just want to make sure she can live without fear."

When they finally reached Urokodaki's abode, Tanjiro felt a surge of emotions. He pushed open the door, and there, in the corner of the room, sat Nezuko, wide awake. Her usual slumbering state was replaced by alertness, her eyes bright with life.

"Nezuko!" Tanjiro rushed to her, wrapping his arms around her. The warmth of her presence filled him with joy. Bell observed the reunion, a smile on his lips, pleased to witness such a strong bond between siblings.

"Ah, I see you brought a friend,Tanjiro." Urokodaki said, stepping into the room with a knowing smile. He sized up Bell, recognizing the aura of power that surrounded him. "And not just any friend, I presume. There's something about you—an energy I've not felt before."

"I'm Bell Cranel," he introduced himself, bowing slightly. "I've traveled here to help with the fight against Muzan and his demons."

Urokodaki's eyes widened in surprise, impressed by Bell's confidence. "Help? You're quite bold for a young man."

Bell chuckled, "I've faced more than my share of monsters. I believe we can bring an end to this reign of terror."

The group settled into the cozy space, the warmth of the fire crackling softly in the background. As Bell recounted tales of his own world, of gods and heroes, Tanjiro listened intently, fascinated. Bell spoke of battles fought and victories claimed, painting vivid pictures of his past that ignited hope in their hearts.

"In my world, we faced challenges that seemed insurmountable, much like the ones you face here," Bell said. "But we persevered. With courage and unity, anything can be overcome."

Two weeks passed swiftly, filled with training, camaraderie, and growth. Bell found himself fully immersed in Tanjiro's training, learning the Dance of the Fire God, adapting its movements into forms that complemented his own fighting style. Urokodaki guided them through the concepts of Total Concentration constant, teaching them how to harness their breathing to strengthen their bodies and heal themselves during battles.

One evening, as they practiced, Urokodaki looked at Bell, a gleam of admiration in his eyes. "You are one heck of a prodigy, Bell. Most take years to grasp these techniques. You've mastered them in mere days!"

"Thank you, but I can't take all the credit," Bell replied humbly. "I have a great teacher in you and an equally inspiring friend in Tanjiro."

The swordsmith soon arrived at the abode, carrying the freshly forged Nichirin swords. The moment Tanjiro and Bell laid eyes on their blades, a sense of excitement and pride surged through them. Tanjiro's sword glowed with a deep crimson hue, while Bell's shone brilliantly, radiating an ethereal light.

"Red swords," Tanjiro marveled, awe filling his voice. "Does this mean we're destined for greatness?"

The smiths nodded, their expressions reflecting their pride. "These swords are forged for warriors who will change the world. Use them wisely."

As the two held their swords aloft, the joy of their new journey filled the air. They were no longer just students; they were destined to become Demon Slayers, champions of humanity.

The First Mission

The following day, Urokodaki gathered them for their first mission. "Your first task is to investigate a series of disappearances in a town called Souta. Girls have been vanishing nightly, and it's believed a demon is behind it. Your goal is to eliminate the threat."

Bell felt a rush of excitement at the mention of their first mission. "Let's go!" he exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.

Urokodaki presented Tanjiro with a wooden box containing Nezuko, carefully crafted to keep her safe. "Take care of her, Tanjiro. She's your greatest asset."

With Nezuko secured and ready, Tanjiro and Bell set off on their journey, their hearts brimming with purpose. The path to Souta was laden with potential dangers, but Bell felt invigorated. Slaying demons and saving humanity felt like a calling. Not only would he be able to spread his fame in this world, but the worship he would earn might amplify his divine domains, enriching his connection to the realms he traversed.

As they walked side by side, Bell turned to Tanjiro, who was leading the way. "You know, Tanjiro, I've never been so excited for a mission. It feels like we're part of something bigger."

Tanjiro smiled, his resolve strengthening. "We are! Together, we can make a difference. For Nezuko, for everyone. We can end Muzan's reign."

Bell nodded, his heart aligned with Tanjiro's ambition. They were two warriors bound by a shared purpose—champions of light in a world overshadowed by darkness. As the sun set on the horizon, they forged ahead, ready to face whatever awaited them in the town of Souta. Their journey was just beginning, and the world would soon know their names.
