"Enough," Eren said, his tone steady despite the storm of emotions raging within him. His dark eyes burned with a mix of defiance and clarity as they locked onto Adams'. "You claim not to care, yet you involve yourself. You play your games, set your pieces on the board, and push us toward this so-called truth. Why?"
Adams' gaze softened slightly, though the intensity behind his golden eyes remained. "Because, Eren," he said, his voice quieter now, almost contemplative, "you have potential. More than you realize. Potential to rise beyond their control, to become something greater than the pawn they intended you to be. And perhaps..." He paused, the faintest trace of something resembling genuine emotion crossing his face. "Perhaps I find it... interesting to see what you'll do with it."
The admission hung in the air, heavy and enigmatic, as if Adams had revealed a glimpse of something deeper, yet still held most of it back.
