Xiao Yi stopped mid-sentence as the silver snake poked its head out, flicking its scarlet tongue, while its amber eyes fixed on Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi was momentarily stunned, then he remembered the moment he had jumped into the river earlier, when the beast egg in his arms had cracked and hatched this little creature.
It was this very creature that had dragged him into the deep waters, allowing him to avoid being pursued and killed by Ye Feng and Zhang Tianyi.
It had also led him to this cave.
And at a critical moment, it had bitten him, infusing life force into his body.
"Little guy, thank you for saving me!" Xiao Yi rubbed the head of the silver snake.
The little snake nuzzled against Xiao Yi's palm willingly, winding along his hand and climbing onto his shoulder, flicking its tongue, its eyes filled with worry and inquiry.
Xiao Yi was taken aback, the little fellow seemed quite human-like. He smiled and said, "I'm fine, don't worry!"
