Had to rewrite this chapter.
Giesabell meant Dragon at the hospital where Kyng had just been told the news on Colt's condition. It took Rico, Marcus and two others to hold Kyng down as the nurse shot him with a sedative. Giesabelle had never seen Kyng this torn up, not even when he beat Colt nearly to death.
"Colt's family," Giesabell brushed past the commotion staring at the nurse.
"I'm his sister," She stood leaning closer,
"The Dr.s are doing everything they can, but it doesn't look good. It'll be best to prepare for the worst." Giesabell dropped to her knees crying as Dragon stood by her.
Hours later after three updates that weren't any different the Dr.s came to talk to them Kyng shot to his feet growling and glaring, the Dr. stood firm and addressed them.
"As you have been told, Colt's body sustained multiple beatens, he'd lost the baby upon arrival, at this moment all there is to do is wait. Tomorrow we will run a brain scan, if he comes to be brain dead there will be nothing we can do but to let him go." Dr. nod as he left Giesabell held onto Dragon Rico and Marcus hung their heads low. Kyng stood there frozen in place.
"Boss," Hunter said huffing as he ran into the waiting room, Dragon pulled him to the side and explained the situation.
Kyng stayed by his side all night, Dragon couldn't understand what was going on in Kyng's mind but he'd turned to stone after speaking to the Dr.
Two weeks later, Joker took over for the time being, seeing that Kyng was in no position to lead, and needing to be close to his mate Hunter.
"Hey, where's Rico?"
"Where else?" Dragon snapped, pointing to the cage room where a very disfigured man sat huddled in the corner.
"I didn't do anything, I'm telling you I only housed him and the boys for six weeks and then he left to live with a man named Ryn that's all I know, I swear." The man cried as Rico approached him,
"Enough, he doesn't know anything. I checked everything, we're back to square one, this Ryn guy was working with someone but not him." Dragon barked as the guy to his knees thanking Dragon for saving him from another hit.
"This is bullshit, Colt nearly died and we can't find the source of this threat." Rico threw his hands in the air and walked out of the room. Dragon had been watching from the sidelines and something didn't go well with him, but he wanted more information before accusing someone.
That night at home Dragon explained his thoughts to Giesabell who flew into a rage.
"You think Rico is behind this attack? Why? How?"
"Think about it, only Kyng, Rico and I knew exactly where Colt was, us three knew about his day to day routine. Then he disappeared just as Kyng was about to bring him back because of a suspicious person. And that person beat Colt nearly to death. I don't think Rico knew that much but he is definitely hiding something."
"You think Rico wanted to kill Colt,"
"I don't know, but he knows something, because the guy in the cage room is terrified of him and Rico turned off the cameras in the room. Why would he? He'd need to show the tape to Kyng right?" Giesabell's eyes grow wide looking past Dragon's head. Time slowed as he turned his head to the person standing in the doorway. A bullet shot through the air, hit Giesabell in the neck. Then another bullet shot hit Dragon in the side of the head. They laid on the floor bleeding and gasping for air.
Hunter knocked on the door Cage answer with a sad smile,
"Here," Cage had gotten used to the daily checks with the five babies. Marcus laid on the bed with three babies nursing bottles and two in the crib wiggling around.
"Here's the schedule followed to the T. Have you seen Giesabell, she was supposed to take Ari and Xaver tonight." Hunter looked at him confused.
"I couldn't find Dragon today either." Hunter and Cage both looked at Marcus.
"What, you want me to go get him?" The men nodded their heads as Cage took two babies out of his hands. With a small kiss on each kid's head and Cage's cheek he left.
While on the road a text from Kyng telling him to come to the hospital detoured Marcus' plan to yell at Dragon for making him miss cuddle time with his sons.
"Boss," Marcus walked in, seeing Colt laying on the bed, it was the first time he'd seen him since he came back. Marcus held back the cringle at the state of him. His eyes were open so that was a good thing.
"He's awake?" Marcus nearly tripped rushing to his bedside. True Colt was awake, but the state he looked at anyone would think he was on death's door. Both eyes puffed and different stages for healing, bandage covering from his forehead to his neck, a bandage wrapped around he head, his lips doubled their normal size with stitches. His arm was in a sling and cast. Doctor said they didn't know if he'd ever walk again.
"Read this." Kyng handed Marcus the note, with a death rage rolling off him. Kyng was ready to explode and anyone in his path was going to be collateral damage.
(Cameras watching, you have a trader, Dragon in danger, Cage not safe) Marcus' eyes shot to Kyng who stood directly in front of Marcus.
"Don't lie to me,"
"Boss, 100% loyal, but I might have an idea. We need Dragon though." Screaming and yelling cut through the halls as Kyng and Marcus watched medics wheel pass with two bloody patients, one medic was on top of the patient doing CPR as they moved. The other patient dropped an object as they passed, Marcus noticed it.
"FUCK!" Marcus picked it up as Kyng growled running after the medic, stopping as his eyes landed on Dragon, the medic was doing his best but nothing was working.
Marcus walked to the other room seeing Giesabell being covered with the sheet Dr. announcing time of death at 7/23/ 3pm. Marcus gasped.
Lucky the bullet only grazed Dragon temple resulting in him needing staples.
