Kyng spent the next three months at the warehouse, far from Colt and his son. He was planning mission after mission. He had no reason to go home. He never wanted to see Colt again and was reminded of his words that day. He recorded the conversation and tortures himself daily to justify why he's doing this.
*" Why are you so down?" Geiasbell asked, pushing Colt up from his lying spot.
"I'm just thinking about Jenive; she killed herself because of Kyng," Colt explained.
"He's a scary guy. I heard about what he did to you when you came back." Geiasbell shook her head, smiling at Asmirt as he cooed.
"I deserved it, I left with his baby, and I didn't even see him as an alpha." Geiasbell snapped to look at Colt in disbelief; why would he say something like that.
"Colt, are you crazy? That's not right; he had no right to do that to you." She stood with her hands on her hips, looking like their mom on a good day. Colt snickered before he got serious again.
"I promised I'd give him an alpha, and I will; we'll get at it; I don't want him to have a reason to take Asmirt from me again. He may hate our son, but I love him. I might even love Kyng." He looked to the floor, picking at the fuzz on the couch pillow.
"You're screwed up in the head, he beat you, raped you, tortured you, and you love him…"*
Kyng stared at the blank screen. Nothing would fix what he had done, but he could forget it. Kyng shook his head, getting back to work, knowing today was going to be another busy day. There was talk of another gang wanting to kill Kyng to take over the city.
"Who the hell is this gang, and where are they?" Kyng sighed and looked at the city map, trying to pinpoint where the gang had set up shop for now.
"Not Carrol, Not Brooklyn, Not Harbor…" Kyng huffed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Boss," Marcus knocked to get Kyng's attention.
"What?" Marcus stood nervously, biting his lip. Marcus was a new recruit Rico voted for, but now he was standing in front of Kyng like a scared cat.
"Your… your omega is here." Well, now that explains a lot. Kyng rolled his eyes as he walked past him. Kyng was sure he told everyone not to let him in here, especially if he had Asmirt with him, and standing there was precisely what he didn't want to see: Colt holding Asmirt on a hip and a basket full of snacks.
"Go home,"
"Please just talk to me. I didn't know. We need to talk about it." It took everything in him not to yell at the Omega.
"Kyng, I'm pregnant." he sighed,
"I just thought you'd like to know here." He sat the plate down and left a picture of today's date on top of the wrap.
"Dude, Baby A, Baby B, you're making an army with your omega." Marcus chuckled, patting Kyng on the back, and he saw red. Punching him with hard teeth, Rico and Dragon stood with the others, just watching because there was nothing else they could do.
"FUCK!" Kyng screamed, running out of the building.
"No! Kyng, no, you'll kill him for what you did."
"Get the fuck off of me," Kyng growled; he's letting Colt live like this anymore. He's not built this world. He'll never fit in this world.
"Sorry, dude, but no." Rico barked. They were barely the same size. Kyng had a good 100bls on him, though.
"Colt," Kyng yelled just as Colt's foot hit the curb; he turned back, and a black SUV drove by. In slow motion, Kyng watched in horror as the shots rang out. Dragon and Rico pushed Kyng down to the ground. Laying on the road were the bodies of Kyng's Omega and son.
A sigh of relief hit when Colt sat up just barely, but the ear-piercing scream had Kyng on his feet, rushing to see his son covering blood. Picking up the baby, Colt screamed, holding his limp body. The cops and medics showed up just minutes later, Colt sat holding Asmirt's lifeless body.
"Sir, are you okay?" A medic asked as the other one took Asmirt away; Colt had three craze wounds on his leg, arm, and neck. That wasn't pointing out the bumps and bruises from falling.
"I'm pregnant, though," The medic's eyes widened as he had his partner get Colt into the back of the van. Cops were taking statements; because it was Black Cross territory, cops couldn't really do much but write up the murder of six-month-old Asmirt Crown Black. Most of the cops were left, trying to get as far away from the impending war that was about to start.
"You promised me, you promised…" Colt cried when they wheeled him into the van. Kyng stood with his men. The rage rolled off everyone.
"It's one thing to kill one of my men, but my family, MY SON!" Kyng growled, patting Colt's head and nodding to Dragon to stay with him as he left. Marcus, Rico, and three other men geared up with a bulletproof vest, knives, and guns. Kyng got the license plate number and had Hit run. Within three hours, they knew exactly where the new gang hideout was.
"This man here is mine," Kyng snarled,
"He shot my son in the back and six-month-old." The room went into an uproar. Not many people knew about Kyng's son; today was probably the first time many of them had seen him.
"Kyng, we'll lay down our lives for your boy, For Kyng's SON!" Rico snapped, holding up his rifle and agreeing yells.
Kyng answered his phone when Dragon's name flashed,
"Dragon?"
"Daddy," Colt whimpered weakly,
"Colt, get some rest; I'll take care of everything," Kyng listened to Colt sob until the line went dead.
