Kevin, Geller, Siath, and Yulia—the four young dragons—instinctively slowed the movements of their jaws, the saliva in their mouths almost stilled as the weight of their inherited memories about Black Dragons surfaced in their minds. A cold shiver coursed through their scales, causing an unsettling ripple to spread across their bodies. They exchanged uneasy glances, their eyes betraying a silent fear, yet none of them dared to speak a word.
What lingered in their minds, however, was a mystery, veiled beneath a shared tension that only dragons who truly understood the monstrous legacy of Black Dragons could comprehend.
---
Three days later.
Sophia had developed a lesson plan for the hatchlings' preschool class.
Castle Black, in a specially separated classroom.
Kevin, Geller, Siath, and Yulia, the four little dragons, were waiting impatiently.
During the past three days, because Sophia had not yet made a lesson plan, they had been leisurely. They ate and slept every day. They were so comfortable that they almost forgot what they still needed to learn.
"What nonsense is learning? We are true dragons. Even if you want to teach us, you must at least be a true dragon."
Not long after arriving in this classroom, Kevin became so irritable that he began to curse.
Originally, the four little dragons had been brought here by the Dragonborn servants, thinking they were coming to eat.
They didn't expect to be tricked, damn it!
"Oh? It seems we have the same idea."
The door to the classroom opened, and Sophia walked in.
The four little dragons looked over, and when they were about to say something, their eyes shrank.
Behind Sophia were three young dragons, two black and one white.
"These are the other three teachers I hired for you. They are responsible for teaching you combat and professional knowledge," Sophia briefly introduced the four little dragons.
"Hey, there are actually four green dragon hatchlings? When did you come to Castle Black? Also, how did I become a teacher? What is going on, Sophia?"
Hannah walked out from behind Sophia and was a little surprised when she saw the four little green dragons. She didn't know where her brother had gotten the dragon eggs. Judging from their size and appearance, they were obviously just a few days old.
However, Hannah was only slightly surprised by this. She came because she had heard Sophia say that she could feel happiness here, so she couldn't wait to come. Now she felt she had been deceived.
Hannah's tone was slightly dissatisfied. If this had happened earlier, she might have pounced on Sophia and bitten her, but after five or six years of training, as well as fighting monster warriors, her temper had improved a lot.
The main reason is that she can't beat Sophia.
"What a terrible smell."
Emilia, who was following her, complained.
The green dragon's body odor is quite special, with a strong smell of chlorine. If one is not in good health, inhaling too much of this smell can cause sore throats, coughing, tears, inflammation, and more.
However, the poison naturally emitted by the green dragon hatchlings was not worth mentioning to the maids and male servants in Castle Black.
Because of Emilia's words, the four little green dragons' hostility toward her instantly increased.
"I smell rotten fish. Do you three smell it?" Kevin said this, clearly mocking Emilia for her earlier comment.
Geller, Siath, and Yulia, the three little dragons, agreed with what their elder brother Kevin said, but they only agreed in their hearts.
Because...
"Boy, you are a bit arrogant."
Before Kevin could react, a black afterimage whipped him away more than ten meters.
The afterimage stopped, revealing Emilia with a sneer. The tail behind her was still moving. Clearly, the "weapon" that had just knocked Kevin away was her dragon tail.
Listening to Brother Kevin, who lay on the ground moaning and whining, the other three little dragons looked left and right, pretending not to be familiar with Kevin.
Emilia looked at the three of them eagerly, and when she saw they were giving in, she didn't want to take further action.
"Hey, Sophia, why did you call the three of us here? Didn't you say it was something that would make us happy? But now I just feel very unhappy!" Emilia's tone was a little harsh.
The relationship between black dragons and green dragons was not good to begin with.
One reason is that their living environments are adjacent. Black dragons like swamps, while green dragons like forests. However, swamps are often located within forests, and the black dragon's corruption field can continuously turn forests into new swamps. This creates tension between nature and the green dragons.
Additionally, as Chromatic dragons, the green dragon's strength ranking is just one place above the black dragon. Both are in the same age group and similar in strength, which naturally leads to animosity. The green dragon feels that the black dragon is dirty and not strong enough, so it looks down on it. The black dragon, on the other hand, finds the green dragon's smell unpleasant and thinks its strength is nothing without spells, resenting the fact that green dragons outrank black dragons.
The white dragon, Eirlys, was watching the situation with amusement. She was born without any particular feelings toward black or green dragons or other true dragons because she had no dragon heritage. She had to experience the world and various species on her own to form her own preferences and views.
For example, for some reason, Emilia, the black dragon, liked to fight with her. And because Emilia was much stronger, Eirlys always ended up at a disadvantage, which embarrassed her. As a result, Eirlys now hated Emilia.
But Eirlys had no strong feelings toward Emilia's sister, the black Dragoness Hannah.
Both parties stayed at Castle Black and the tribe all year round, rarely interacting.
"Didn't I say that you will be responsible for teaching the four little dragons combat and professional knowledge from now on?" Sophia replied.
"Sorry, I don't have time. I have my own things to do and need to practice," Hannah turned around impatiently and prepared to leave.
Emilia also found this task boring and was ready to leave, thinking it would be better to go to bed.
The white dragon Eirlys was very interested in things she had never been exposed to before, though it wasn't certain whether she could persist.
"Don't refuse so quickly. If you teach these four little dragons well, the master will be very happy," Sophia smiled.
"Brother's happiness has nothing to do with us," Emilia said. Despite her words, both Emilia and Hannah stopped leaving, curious about Sophia's explanation.
Sophia didn't hesitate and said bluntly, "Do you know why those monster clan warriors' strength increased so quickly? And me—five or six years ago, I was just an ordinary human girl with no strength at all. But now, five or six years later, I have reached the ninth order, and in terms of strength, I am stronger than you. There are many others like me at Castle Black."
Sophia's words piqued Emilia and Hannah's interest, as well as the four little green dragons.
The little green dragons especially thought Sophia was lying after hearing what she said.
It is possible to go from an ordinary person to the ninth order in five or six years, but among humans, this is considered genius-level, not just ordinary talent.
And there are many such extraordinary geniuses in Castle Black? Isn't that a joke? If human geniuses were so numerous, how could the evil dragons be so arrogant on the material plane? Dragons would have become scarce long ago.
If such genius was created rather than born, it would be something even dragon veins couldn't achieve. To be more precise, only the most powerful dragon veins could do this. If a true dragon was willing to use its own dragon essence and blood, it could contract with a human and transform them into a top-tier genius.
If a simple ordinary dragon vein could achieve this, the dragon's strength and bloodline would need to be incredibly exaggerated.
How exaggerated?
At least the bloodline of an ancestral dragon or a dragon comparable to a god. Even their ordinary blood, or just staying near them for a time, could greatly benefit ordinary creatures.
The four little green dragons perked up after hearing this. They had stayed in the dragon's nest long enough to understand the nest's peculiarities, even if they were somewhat simple-minded.
Meanwhile, the two young black dragons, smarter than the others, began to guess that Brother Barbatos had some means of increasing his followers' strength—and this method likely involved his dragon blood. After all, the monster clan warriors were desperate for Barbatos's dragon blood.
"By teaching these four green dragons, will we gain the power given by Brother Barbatos?" Hannah asked eagerly.
"Yes," Sophia nodded slightly and added, "The master told me himself. He hopes that you will become stronger, but the condition is that you must listen to him. You know the master likes obedient people."
"I understand." Hannah nodded excitedly. What was she working so hard for if not to become stronger and live well?
Now there was such a shortcut in front of her, and the price was only teaching four small green dragons.
Thinking about it this way, Hannah found herself feeling quite happy.
She had misunderstood Sophia.
You said you were teaching students, not bashing them? No, no, no—evil dragon teaching is about hammering, hammering hard. As long as they're beaten hard enough, little evil dragons will feel shame and start working hard. Everything else is nonsense.
This wasn't just Hannah's imagination; it was backed by real-life examples. —Herself, and Emilia.
Hannah looked at Kevin and the other little green dragons with malicious intentions.
"Then let's start now. I can't wait."
Sophia smiled slightly and nodded.
---
The first day of Dragon Preschool.
Kevin and the other four little green dragons returned to the wind elemental dragon's lair with bruised noses and swollen faces.
Ho, tui~!
A mouthful of bloody saliva fell to the ground along with a few broken dragon teeth, which bounced a few times.
Kevin touched his dragon mouth and found that half of his white, sharp dragon teeth were missing. He suddenly screamed in anger,
"I've had enough! I want to leave this bullshit Castle Black now. I want to be free! I am the future Green Dragon King! Geller, Idiot, and Yulia, the four of us are leaving today!"
"I won't leave." Geller covered his mouth and lay completely in the dragon's nest like a dragon.
Seeing this, Kevin cursed, "Coward," and then looked at Yulia.
"Don't look at me. I don't want to commit suicide." Yulia rolled her eyes, but they were swollen from the beating, and it hurt so much that she took a sharp breath.
Kevin grinned and glared at the dragon girl angrily. Then he looked at Saith, who was in a daze with his belly upturned in the dragon's lair. Without even asking, he cursed, "Idiot," and sat down on his butt atop the wind element crystals stacked in the dragon's nest.
But he didn't ask, and Saith, who was lying in a daze with his belly in the sky, was not happy.
"Kevin, why don't you ask me?"
Kevin didn't like this idiot brother.
Saith turned over with difficulty, slowly got up from the ground, and walked to Kevin. In Kevin's doubtful eyes, Saith sat directly on his head.
A heavy object weighing hundreds of kilograms was suddenly pressed down. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be called an attack, but for Kevin, who was now covered in injuries, this heavy pressure almost killed him.
"I still agree with what Hannah said today. To be a dragon, you must learn to respect the strong. Kevin, I think you really need to learn the meaning of this sentence," Saith said as he pressed Kevin down and hummed.
"I'm going to kill you, idiot!"
Kevin, pinned down by the dragon's rear, was in severe pain all over his body. He suffered secondary injuries on top of various existing ones and was going mad with rage.
But he had already been beaten to the point of losing all his strength by the two dragons, Emilia and Hannah. No matter how hard he tried, it was in vain. He was unable to stand up and escape from the weight of his dragon brother, Saith.
Gradually, Saith purred on top of Kevin.
"Damn it," Kevin growled. This was too insulting to the dragon. After a burst of strength beyond his own limits, he finally pushed away the heavy mountain of flesh.
"Saith, I'm going to beat you to pieces!!"
Kevin's sudden burst of strength stunned Saith, who was hit by several punches in succession.
"Saith, I want you to respect your big brother!"
Kevin growled and straddled Saith, punching him again and again without holding back. The inexplicable power that surged through his body gave him a huge boost in strength.
Saith was beaten so badly that he couldn't fight back and kept begging for mercy.
Seeing this, Kevin felt happy, but then his strength faded, his consciousness became blurry, and he passed out.
During the whole process, their fifth sister, Yulia, saw it all and was surprised.
"How can Kevin still have the strength to launch such an attack?"
Just then, the door opened.
One by one, dragonborn servants entered, carrying huge dinner plates, accompanied by a Dragon Vein sorceress of the Rose Clan, a young Cat Girl.
"Come here, line up and receive treatment," the Dragon Vein sorceress said indifferently.
Geller reacted the fastest and was closest to the door, so he rushed to the Dragon Vein sorceress at the first possible moment.
The Dragon Vein sorceress didn't say much. A light blue glow condensed in her hand and covered the wounds on Geller's dragon body.
Geller squinted his dragon eyes comfortably. His injuries were healing, and his dragon scales were growing, which made him feel a little itchy.
However, the effects of the hydrotherapy quickly wore off.
