Chapter 15 - Arrival at the Rock

Gwayne got up in the first light of morning and woke up Daeron, who stretched in the bed and looked at him.

- Do we have to go this early?

- Quickly, I want to leave before the first bird sings. - Gwayne said.

Daeron helped him dress his armor while yawned.

Then Gwayne immediately went down to the castle courtyard, where he found Ser Jodi holding two already sealed horses and with armor.

Daeron arrived dressed in his quota of mesh and gibbon after a few minutes. Gwayne looked at him from top to bottom.

The mesh quota falls to your thigh because of Daeron's low height.

He held on so he wouldn't let a smile go.

- Look at us, we're already men. - Gwayne said. - Come closer, let me see if she's well tied.

Gwayne inspected to see if everything was in the right place.

Ser Jodi approaches with smile on his face. — Look at that, he'll kill many Northern men, boy.

- No Northern can kill me in this thing. - Says Daeron, letting go of a silly laugh.

Gwayne laughed and rode on his horse, didn't take long to leave after that.

They arrived at Casterly Rock after a day and a half of riding, by far they saw the huge army that gathered over the Lannister standard.

- It's the biggest army my eyes have ever seen. - Gwayne said it. - Must have over 30,000 soldiers.

- Impossible we lost this war!

They spotted several flags about the camps, a burning tree, orange and gray. Marbrand. A purple unicorn piled in silver deep, Brax. Kayce, Farman, Westerling.

Everyone answered the call of the young lion.

We set up camp next to the Clifton House, where Lady Cerella was promised to one of the men in this house. Let's raise our banner, a red boar head in white, under a sinister gold curve, a rampant silver lion and with a fork-tail, armed and defined in gold, in red.

Gwayne sent one of the knights to announce the presence of his house and left for the Clifton camp.

he said hello to Ser Gareth Clifton, who was sitting in a wooden chair in his tent.

- Any news from your grandfather?

My grandfather has more important matters in Golden Forest, so to speak. Gwayne smiled, didn't want to pass by arrogant. – I came to meet the man of your house who will marry my cousin as a wife, where can I find him?

Gareth made a surprise face.

- I'm afraid I can't find it, young man. Ser Humfrey left for the crown land a few moons.

- Why?

- He didn't reveal his intentions to me, I'm sorry.

After that, Gwayne said goodbye to Ser Gareth and returned to his own camp to wait for the time of the march, which didn't take long.

The other day this morning the army began the march for the golden tooth, over Ser Jaime's command.

This huge army took five days to reach fate.

Gwayne was invited to the banquet inside the castle, as well as other gentlemen. He wore an appropriate outfit, so to speak and took Daeron with him.

Daeron spotted all sorts of Lord, of the pompous and of the most humble on his way to the castle, proud knights with their splendid clothes. Compared to them, Gwayne and I are simple walking knights, because we leave beautiful clothes at home. But Gwayne still attracted more attention than they, they're not all who have such attractive eyes. In addition to the height, one and eighty-four at sixteen, that calls attention from the ladies.

It was a beautiful golden castle, with golden stones and covered with banners.

They were in the middle of the hall, between the table rows looking, deciding where to sit and enjoy the looks. They were still young and anxious to show themselves. Gwayne looked towards the road to see if he found Ser Jaime, but he wasn't there yet. A giant passed through him, the only one who could look Gwayne over, Crakenhall's Strong Boar. Mr. Roland Crakenhall.

thought Daeron.

- I haven't found Ser Lymond yet, where is that old boar, Sor? He asked Lord Roland.

- I don't have the honor of being a Sor, my Lord. My grandfather won't come. But it's an honor to meet an old friend of his, pleasure, my name is Gwayne Vikary.

- He answered him.

- Lord Roland laughs one day, we'll still fight to decide who has the strongest boar, boy.

Gwayne laughed together.

- Nice to meet you, boy.

They shook their hands.

After that, Gwayne sat down with Daeron somewhere far away from the Strado. They filled their face with wine and ate chicken pies and wet thighs to honey and spices with spices of that. Gwayne killed the curiosity of seeing Ser Jaime again, was on the robe dressed like gold leather and attracting the attention of all ladies.

- He's a man to be followed.

- It's a shame he's a Lannister.

But those words fell into wrong ears, Ser Lorent Lorch heard.

- What did you mean by that, boy? He asked Ser Lorent, with little kindness in his voice.

You haven't heard anything, you're drunk, Ser stupid face. — said Gwayne, with the trembling wine voice.

- You want to die, kid?

- We apologise, Ser. - He answered Daeron and asked one of the knights of the Lefford house to carry Gwayne.

Gwayne and Daeron were staggering back to camp. As he was drunk too, Daeron just asked the knight to throw him in bed and Daeron threw himself over.

"Redwyne wine is very good, my good Daeron mumbled Gwayne."

Daeron laughed and they both fell asleep.
