Chapter 14 - The hero is too broken part

Everyone present there watched in awe as the hero killed his opponents like it was nothing at all.

"Damn that was a super anticlimactic System. When you told me that I had a death flag, it really meant death.

Seriously system, how am I even supposed to fight such a cheat level entity."

[Don't worry host you made me a system on your side]

'What the hell are you talking about system you are a fucking fraud.

Looks like the hero is much scarier than expected.'

"Mister, are you hurt? The ruffians showed up all of a sudden."

Hearing the hero's concerned tone Mikhail let out a sigh of relief, at least he won't be attacked for now.

"No, I am perfectly fine by the way, mister hero.... How may I call you?"

"You can call me Hero."

"No, I was asking for your name."

"Yes, it's Hero."

'Fuck sloppy Author, if my name was villain then I would have coughed out blood and died on the spot.

Thinking about that I don't really know my name, would my name really be Mr Villain!!'

Mikhail's was drenched with cold sweet, did he really jinx himself.

'System answers me.... System..... System.'

Mikhail was getting more and more nervous seeing that the system was not answering him.

"Mister why did you stop all of a sudden your complexion doesn't look good. Did you get hurt?

Thinking about you haven't introduced yourself mister. It's a bit strange calling you mister."

'Who the hell is speaking you are literally named Hero.'

"Don't worry about me being fine, you will get to know when we will reach the mansion."

Mikhail looked at the group of girls following them and realized that he would also have to accomodate them thankfully his mansion was big enough for the stay of more than 20 people at a time or else things would have gotten awkward.

During the entire journey to the mansion none of them spoke a word to him, only the hero would occasionally strike up a conversation.

It was mainly about this area and which places they could go next after resting in the mansion.

Even though Mikhail himself had meger knowledge on these topics he tried to answer them with the best of his ability.

'Hey do you think I am a tour guide asking all sorts of questions?'

No one was riding so it took quite a time to reach the mansion.

Adel was waiting by the door so Mikhail just dropped the responsibility of tour guide to him. He was done with this role and was never gonna try it again.

Adel was a bit surprised at first to see his young master lead this group, but when he heard that it was the hero's party he completely understood what was going on.

It seemed that his young master was thoughtful enough to escort the hero himself.

The hero was a spiritual leader for the people and his importance was not lowered by any king or archbishop of a land.

Maybe his popularity would exceed that of them both. So it could be said that escorting the hero was a matter of pride not shame.

'It seems that the young master hadn't let down the lord's expectations.'

Adel was really happy for Mikhail now. But Mikhail didn't know any of that . Before leaving he gave the harem of girls one last glance as if confirming something and then left without speaking a word.

"Hey did you see that , that person was looking at us a lot. Do you think he would lay his hands on us?

What nonsense we have Lord Hero to protect us how can someone thing about do anything to us."

The girls murmured to themselves in hushed tones. Thankfully the hero was the center of attention of all the servants of the mansion so they didn't notice them.

Otherwise they would not let them off the hook for defamation of their young master.

Most servants in the mansion were busy attracting the hero's attention and would try their best to make a conversation. But Mr Hero would tactically end the small talk after a few sentences.

As for the girls they were seen as the hero's playthings so no one struck a conversation with them.

Adel also had to find a room for them to live while keeping them close to the hero but keep enough disparity between the room's quality.

"Please enjoy your stay at your estate. If you need anything feel free to inform our servants."

"Yes thank you very much."

"You don't have to modest you are the hero it's the least we can do for you after all."

The count was reading his documents in the study. His forehead was creased as he looked at the reports from the royal capital.

The king's death from an unknown sickness had taken the entire nobility by storm.

' It's going to quiet the turmoil in the capital, to restore the power vacuum. It seems the queen has been made the ruling regent by the royal court.

The fractions are going to pop up anytime now, I hope our family would not be implicated if a civil war breaks out. '

The inconsistency in the nobility's politics was giving him a headache. He even felt like he had aged several years.

The king is the uniting force of the nation. Without the king the Dukes and counts are free to do as they please.

That means there would be no higher authority if two noble families go to war. Count Dertain did have insecurities about his neighbors.

The problem is that the other party is a Duke and has a higher status and larger army than him. They have gone to war in the past but were mediated by the king.

Count Dertain didn't know how much the Duke of Redwood would respect the regent's authority.

But it was certain he needed to build a bigger army for deterrence. Even though the other party had a larger number of levies their revenue was more or less equal.

This only showed how rich the Dertain family really is. Just when the count was brainstorming all types of plans, Adel came into the study with a serving of coffee and deserts.

Looking at Adel the count remembered an important matter.

"Adel sent someone to pick up the hero."

'If I can convince the hero to be one of my generals or atleast help him out in case of a war, then I can effectively turn the tables on the Duke.'

The count had always prefered quality over quantity, afterall his territory lacked manpower but had a lot of resources. He had hired several top class adventurers, mercenaries and mages from the guilds or through personal connections.

This was also effective as a smaller much skilled army was able to hold off a much larger mob with much ease, but that didn't mean that numbers didn't matter.

A normal soldier can be easily replaced after death but a mage cannot be. It was also not like that the mages are unbeatable. So the war soon became a stalemate.

"My lord the young master had already escorted the hero to the estate."

"What my foolish son did that?!", the disbelief was clear in the count's voice.

"Yes lord it seems that young master is changing and has started to take on the responsibilities that come with his position."

"You are right it's high time thaty stupid son matures up to become a man worthy to inherit the title."

***********************************************

In the room provided to the hero, Mr Hero was sitting and thinking about what he would do next.

Looking at the room he felt very amazed. This might be the best room he had been to while on his journey.

Yes he had indeed been invited by other nobles but none of them had such a luxurious mansion that could even challenge a castle under them.

Getting up he looked through the French window, and saw the vast garden outside.

'This place is really something there might be a big quest here.

Sadly I don't have a system which would give me missions.'

Then he shifted his gaze to the king sized luxurious bed in the center of the room. Sitting down on it he could feel the comfortable sensation on his ass.

'This mattress is quite soft.'

Journeying around was not the most luxurious thing to do. After all there was no bed and he had to camp at night. He could even be called a homeless guy living in the woods.

In that sense this bed was like an entirely different world for him.

The second thing that he was happy about was the fact that all his party members were all in different rooms.

They weren't as lucky as the hero to get their individual rooms so they had to stay in groups of three or four in each room.

The rooms too were also plain like the rooms of the servants and maids.

Thinking about the time when he had to camp together with so many girls in the woods , he didn't get the slightest bit of excitement.

They were just too annoying as they would try to stick too close to him and even try to sneak into his camp, telling that they were scared and would like to sleep with him for the night. If he said yes then:

Soon a fight would break out among them to decide who would sleep in the hero's camp.

This annoyed him to no end. He would not allow one to sleep in his tent and would tell the others to move their tents closer to his.

Sometimes they would even try to get uncomfortably close to him. Which also gave him a headache.

But here he could finally have his piece of mind and no one would come to bother him.

Soon a knock on his door was heard.

"Yes"

"Lord Hero the food is ready please let me accompany you to the dinning area."

"Yes sure"

"The lord also want to talking to you he is to waiting in the dinning hall for you."
