Within the underground passageway, dust and rubble clouded the air as Finch and the hoodie girl frantically dug through the wreckage. The blast had torn through the chamber, and the once-grand space was now a pile of debris.
Somewhere beneath the shattered stone and twisted metal lay Feiyun, injured but with the movement of her chest, she was alive. With her face hidden beneath the hood, the girl knelt beside her, prying a slab of broken concrete away with surprising strength.
"Feiyun!" Finch shouted, his voice rough from the dust, helping to free her from the collapsed rubble. Blood dripped from a gash on her forehead, but Feiyun managed to prop herself up, coughing from the dust.
"I'm fine," Feiyun rasped, brushing away the hoodie girl's attempts to help her further. "Just a little shaken." Her eyes darted around, frantic. "Where's Damien?"
