Sabrina pushed open the door to Madam Quinn's room, her steps quick and her heart racing. Hope flickered in her chest like a small, fragile flame as she stepped inside.
"Grandmother?" she called softly, her voice trembling with emotion as she stepped close to the bed. But when she saw the still figure on the bed, her heart sank.
Madam Quinn lay there, her face pale, her chest rising and falling so faintly it was barely noticeable. The room was silent except for the steady beeping of the heart monitor. Hunter stood by the bed, his expression calm but tired. Alex lingered near the doorway, arms crossed.
"Why isn't she awake?" Sabrina asked Hunter, her voice sharp with worry. She turned to him, her eyes wide and pleading.
Hunter sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "The doctors said it might take a while for her to regain consciousness. It totally depends on her now. But they wanted us to see her, just in case."
