Chapter 50 - Trust Me

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Hunter walked into the kitchen the next morning to get a glass of water.

The aroma of sizzling bacon and freshly brewed coffee filled the air, waking him up more effectively than any alarm clock.

He paused in the doorway, surprised to find Delilah at the stove, her back to him, humming softly as she flipped pancakes.

The morning light streaming through the window highlighted her features, giving her an almost ethereal glow. She wore a simple, yet elegant, dress that hugged her figure just right. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, with a few strands framing her face. For a moment, Hunter just stood there, taking in the unexpected sight.

Delilah turned and caught him staring. A bright smile lit up her face. "Good morning," she greeted, her voice cheerful.

Hunter blinked, taken aback by her warmth. "Good morning," he replied, walking further into the kitchen. "You're in a good mood," he observed.
