Hunter made his way back inside the restaurant, his expression carefully composed as he approached Alex's table.
He didn't see any reason to avoid Chloe since he was Hunter himself, and he wanted to give her the chance to look down on him some more.
When Alex saw him approaching, he glanced at his watch, glad that he could finally put an end to the date, since he was bored and tired of talking with Chloe already.
All of Chloe's conversations seemed to be centered on Delilah and she had been talking endlessly about how crazy Delilah was. No matter how many times Alex changed the subject, Chloe always found a way to bring it back to Delilah, and it had gotten even worse after she excused herself to use the ladies' room.
Chloe's obsession with Delilah was beginning to make him worry for Delilah, and he hoped Hunter would be able to keep her safe.
"Has your cousin left?" Alex asked, his tone neutral as Hunter stopped at the table.
