While Conner was still speaking, Delilah reached for her drink and threw it in his face, her eyes flashing with fury.
"What I felt for you doesn't even come close to what I feel for him. And whatever we had feels like child play compared to what I have with him. He's the kind of man you could never be even if you tried, so don't you dare disrespect my husband in front of me, you idiot!" she snapped, her voice low and dangerous.
Hunter, sensing that the situation was about to escalate further, gently squeezed Delilah's waist. "Baby, why don't you let me handle this? Give me a moment alone with him."
Delilah hesitated, glancing between Hunter and her ex, before finally nodding. "I need to use the ladies' room anyway," she said, her voice calmer now.
She stood, casting one last glare at her ex before turning on her heel and walking away.
