Chapter 40 - Tempting

Delilah stirred awake from a dream filled with sunshine and sandy beaches, sunlight filtering through the thin curtains and casting a warm glow over her room.

She stretched languidly, a blissful sigh escaping her lips. Saturday. Glorious, lazy Saturday.

She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and groaned. It was late, much later than she usually woke up but it was understandable since she had not slept this well since her kiss with Blake three nights ago.

She yawned, her mind immediately drifting to thoughts of Blake. Had he already left the house as usual? It had been two days since she last saw him, even though they lived under the same roof.

What had started as relief at avoiding him was slowly turning into simmering irritation. She was the one who was supposed to be avoiding him, so why was he avoiding her? If she didn't know better she would think she was the one who had initiated the kiss and not him.
